It should work, but you'll need to install cross bars first. It works with the aero-frame. cross bars of the type If you get square or round cross bars, you may need to buy the inno adapters.

Is this something that would work on a Ford Focus from 2013?

They are only compatible with crossbars that already exist. If your crossbars are wide enough, they should work. Compare the width of these to the width of the roof on your car. It's worth noting that I installed these on a Chevy Equinox with factory crossbars and found that there was plenty of room.

Selected User Reviews For INNO Racks - Locking Surfboard Roof Rack - Water Sport Car Top Mount

I should've paid more attention to what I was reading
3/5

As a theft deterrent, I was looking for surfboard racks that locked to my SUV cross bars, and I mistakenly assumed that these would do the trick based on the title. The locking feature, on the other hand, is for the cross straps that secure the surfboard, which is fine, but not what I was looking for. There's also a crane strap, the purpose of which is unknown - The user guide makes no mention of using them, and I was unable to find what I was looking for. Please respond in the comments if you know of a way to lock the rack! br>br>When installing the racks, I had to be careful not to let any of them fall off the roof - I'm afraid of scratching the surface. When installing the racks, I made sure to keep a towel underneath each one. It's also a good idea to get the screw accessory pack with the racks. My crossbars were too big for the screws that came with the kit. br>br>On the plus side, the racks fit snugly over the crossbars of my SUV, and my board is secure on the racks.

Once it's on the car, it's a fantastic rack
4/5

Attaching to the roof rack is a bit of a pain. Once it's on the rack, this rack is incredibly simple to use. The locking system is excellent. In San Francisco (but in nice neighborhoods), I've left my board on the car overnight. There are, however, a couple of vexing flaws. br>br>First and foremost, the small rubber pieces that contact your roof rack are prone to falling off. One fell off as soon as I removed it from the package. I've since superglued them to keep them from falling, but one has fallen once more. Because those aren't securely glued on from the factory, if they fall off, the rack isn't very even and may damage the roof rack, so it's unacceptable. Second, putting on and taking off the roof rack is a bit of a pain. I've gotten a little better at it now that I don't leave it on for as long as I used to, but I still have to be careful because the rubber pieces fall off.

The INNO Surfboard Rack is the best surfboard rack ever
5/5

Simply put, this is the best surfboard rack I've ever had. For years, I relied on the straps. Straps required constant adjusting and were susceptible to wind noise at highway speeds. If you're doing it on your own, it'll take a little longer. The INNO is incredible: br>br> Installation was simple on my 2006 Toyota FJ's factory stock rack crossbars; carries three boards (and I've driven three boards many times) 6 hours up there with three longboards and no problems); quick and simple to operate; locking straps (I've forgotten how many times I've left the boards on the rack overnight in hotels); & one of a kind Loading and unloading of boards is done by a single person. br>br>On his BMW, one of my friends introduced me to the INNO. Without a doubt, every penny spent on this outstanding, top-of-the-line product was well spent. product of high quality.

It was better than I had anticipated
5/5

== Update after a long period of use ===br>I like it even more now that I've had it for a while. I kept track of the time: Pulling the board from my garage and loading it onto the rack took only 25 seconds. Taking it off the rack and putting it away takes 18 seconds. br>br>I've stopped bothering to put my short board in my car. It's just easier to toss it on the shelf. br>br>I've taken the rack off for a couple of road trips, and putting it back on the car takes about 2 minutes. Some of the best cash I've ever spent. br>br> br>br>== Original review ==br>br>* Installed in a matter of minutes on my factory bars. The mount is identical to the one on my ski rack from the same company. It's a lot better than the Thule mount that came with my bike rack. There is no need to thread anything once it is set up. A latch can be easily removed or replaced by simply releasing it. It's easy to use, quick to download, and safe to use. I'd like to buy the engineer who created it a beer. * Extremely easy to use. Place the planks on top of the boards. The loop should be attached. Turn it all the way down. br>* Holds the boards in place better than the straps and pads I was using previously. Because there's no risk of the boards sliding side to side, you don't need to slam them down as hard. To keep my longboard from moving, I always felt like I needed to tighten the straps. br>* Throwing straps over the car and running in circles is no longer an option. br>* I have a long, thick board and a fun board in my bag, which could easily hold another board. br>* ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: If you have a tailgate, the boards sit a little higher off the rails, giving you a little more clearance. My FX 35's tailgate now rises a little higher before hitting the board. br>br>This device simplified the most difficult aspect of surfing. The money was well spent. Buy one.

If you want to give your a little more security, these are ideal
5/5

If you want your boards to be a little more secure, these are ideal. Although cutting the cables with wire cutters is still possible, having to do so serves as a deterrent to theft. They're simple to set up and maintain, and they're also safe. I've had them for more than two years and have carried two long boards (one 9-footer and the other 10-footer). 2, and the remaining ten 0) without a hitch, even at highway speeds. When loading your boards from the back, with fins to the back, they are the most convenient. The steel cables from the crane will never have to be disconnected this way. In most cases, it's best to load the fins of the board forward so that they catch the straps if they loosen. Because the ratchet allows you to get the straps/crane super tight, I never have to worry about that happening with this product. I only carry my boards in day bags and have never had any issues with them being damaged. These are racks that I strongly suggest.

Surfboard Racks of the highest quality
5/5

One of my least favorite aspects of surfing is scrambling around my Highlander trying to strap the board to the roof, especially after a long session. I have to use the racks because I have such a long board. Thule makes a good surfboard, but it wasn't quite right for me. The Inno mount is a fantastic product that is simple to install and works well with the stock crossbars on my Highlander. It is incredibly simple to get your board into and out of the rack, and it far outweighs the use of straps. In addition, I frequently bring my board to work for a quick after-work session, knowing that I won't have to worry about it being stolen. The one minor disadvantage, as stated by other reviewers, is that you will hear some noise due to the height, but this does not bother me. The arm that keeps the strap up means you never have to get to the top of your vehicle, which is the best feature of the racks. Simply unlock the two locks, slide the board in from the back, crank both down, lock, and you're finished. This saves me 5 minutes in and out of the water, and the racks are worth it just for that.
