Questions & Answers
It's only 5 inches wide; any powder skis wider than that will not fit. Also, putting the twin tips together, base to base, does not work.
Yes. Each slot has an opening at the bottom. You might want to put something underneath to catch the water, such as a boot tray.
Actually, having just purchased one, it will, but each ski must be stored in its own compartment, so this rack will only hold three pairs of twin tips.
It's possible in theory, but it'd be difficult. First, the base's "feet" aren't attached with bolts or other fasteners, so you'd have to either drill holes in the rack or use extremely strong glue. After that, you'll need to secure it to the hitch rack. Finally, secure the skis themselves in place, preferably at the base and then in the middle, because they will be top heavy standing in the rack. Personally, after seeing skis fall from an upright rack on a professional mountain shuttle, I'd take a different route.

These racks, as well as the ones for snowboards, are poorly designed. There are no instructions for assembling or separating the legs, which come locked together (they slide apart). Each leg is poorly v slotted and will not slide up on either side; the thickness of the plastic slots varies, so plan on spending at least a half hour with each leg and a dremel sanding disk to get them to slide on. Quality control is extremely poor. This is a product I would look for elsewhere.
I purchased the Fall Line Ski Rack to help organize the space in our garage where we keep our skis. I was overjoyed when I lifted the rack out of the box after it was delivered to my house because it was made of thick, heavy plastic. It should last a long time, in my opinion. On the left, the tail of my skis is number four. 5 inches (114 mm) wide and easily fits. I believe the widest skis that will fit in this rack are those that are 125 mm wide (at the tail).
It has a substantial weight to it. There was some flashing left over on one leg. I trimmed the excess flashing away with a utility knife, and the leg slid right on, just like the manufacturer intended. I'd buy it again, but I don't think my current unit will ever break down. It was satisfying to buy and receive a long-lasting item.
It can be used to store items or to sit in an inconspicuous location. We have it on a mountain deck with a river running alongside it. It was filled with fishing poles by some of the guests. Dual use. 😄.
This is an excellent product. It's incredibly simple to put together and extremely powerful. In a heartbeat, I'd buy it again!.
incredibly strong It's simple to assemble and requires no special equipment.
wonderful item.
Solid- appears to be impervious to harm; Skis seem to be content.
