This is a much better purchase when compared to a top rated shell that would often cost $500, and I am pleasantly surprised at how many features I got for the price. My favorite feature is the collar, it is nice and high to keep the wind out. I'm not a fan of a scarf or buff so that is an added bonus for me. This jacket cinches tightly around the wrists, so you don't have to worry about snow or water flowing into the sleeves while you're active. The over construction is good as well and I am not worried about how long it will last given how sturdy the material is. There's only one thing I don't like about the jacket, and that is the fact that it runs a bit bigger than I anticipated. As far as I'm concerned, the extra room for layers makes it easier to layer when the weather gets chilly, but others might prefer to size down depending on their.

The material is very strong and works well for a coat that is going to be subjected to harsh weather conditions. Speaking of Velcro, the stuff used on this coat is very aggressive and suitable for an outdoor jacket. With its height, it provides throat and face protection in wind or spray. The hood stows neatly inside where it is designed so it will deploy with the collar still standing. The only quibble I have is that it is not available in any colors other than black. When there is an emergency situation it is hard to see. It is also a poor color for marine life.

I spend a lot of time outdoors, especially by and on the water, rafting, fishing, and sailing, and I do so in a great rain suit. Both the jacket and the overalls are simply beautiful and I love them both. I've dealt directly with WindRider and they are totally dedicated to making things right and stand behind their products. Additionally, they have all the features I expect perfect fit, quality materials, velcro flaps, fantastic zippers, piled pockets, etc. As a knowledgeable outdoor gear maker and a top-line customer service provider, I could go on and on about the quality of what they do and what they produce for this company, but this is the real deal and I will continue to buy from them.

Since everyone always told me you had to buy a name-brand rain suit, I was hesitant to buy this. The jacket was going to cost $250 and the pants were going to cost another $250. I was able to get the jacket and matching pants for around $200. With a jacket this expensive, you'd think it was too heavy and water-resistant to work. It exceeded my expectations to try this product and I can't say enough positive things about it.

Over the past few years, I have worked in the outdoor industry. It is a lovely jacket. I have worked in the outdoor industry for many years and have seen many very expensive options that do not fit as well as the jacket I am reviewing. It's a great way to keep water out of the jacket with the double cuff. It is the hood that I like most. It keeps the rain out of your eyes and stores neatly inside the collar of the jacket so that you don't even know it is there. It also compacts into a small space and doesn't make a big mess in your pockets. My recommendation to anyone in need of a good rain jacket would be this one.

My husband was looking for a jacket with a bit of length that is water resistant. I was looking for something like this. Though he hasn't worn it in torrential rain yet, he will do so soon.
