I ended up sending it back for at least three There was a clicking sound from the paddle end- With a ball to prevent twisting, but without a clamp, play could be had. The paddle appears to be very good. I like the look of the materials, it's strong and appears to be well-made. Handle has a light weight and ergonomic design. A previous paddle sank into the river, so we bought this one to replace it. No damage was done to the paddle as it was well packed. I think the paddle is a perfect replacement for what we needed, as it is cheap, and works well. I did not feel it was heavy at all. It isn't as light as carbon fiber paddles, but it isn't as heavy as wood. The paddle can easily be adjusted to fit your needs.
Buying this paddle to replace my board's original one was good decision for a couple of reasons. Not only is it much lighter, but it is about 1/3 of the price of my husband's carbon paddle. Value was more important to me than high performance when I purchased this paddle. This product is exactly what it says on the tin. This is the paddle I let people use when they are learning because it's sturdy, functional, and it won't make me take offense if they hit a rock with my top of the line carbon.
