The blade measures eight inches long. It's 25" wide at its widest point, and it's about 8" wide overall. Bending Branches paddles are one of my favorite types of paddles. I have two straight ones that I've had for 11 years and have paddled more than 1000 miles with. They're still in excellent condition. With a comfortable grip, it's light and easy to use. The rock guard tips are nice and have held up well, despite the fact that most of the 1000 miles were spent on a large river with little rock banging. I bought the bent shaft paddles about four years ago and use them on calmer water where quick maneuvering is not required. If you plan to keep them for a long time, I believe they are well worth the money.
22 oz +/- 1 oz. Bending Branches uses a variety of basswood cuts in these, so the density cannot be guaranteed. Consider the following scenario: Wood near a knot or grown during a drought year has a higher density than wood grown in the tree's main grain or during a wet year.
Yes, the 54" paddle was still available at the time of this response. However, because Amazon marketplace sellers decide what they want to sell on the site, this can vary significantly. I can assure you that Bending Branches makes a 54" and that it is available, even if not on Amazon.
It's not for two paddles; it's just for one.

They were two in number. I probably take them out on the water about 10 times a year, so let's call it 20. I've only had these for about 30 days. On both sides of the paddle, the wood began to split. To fix it, I had to bend it as far as I could and force wood glue into it as best I could. After that, I sanded it down and varnished it. I didn't see anything about the possibility of having to re-enter my information. If you buy these, I recommend sanding them down and applying a fresh coat of varnish every other year or so. Water had to have gotten into the crack and onto the raw wood once the split formed, even though the wood didn't appear to be warped or soaked.
They're incredibly light, and paddling our canoe with them was a breeze. Communication was excellent from the seller. They were short on oars due to covid, but they kept in constant contact with me, updating me on the situation and even offering to waive the shipping fee, which was unnecessary because it was beyond their control. I am extremely pleased with everything.
This was a 50th birthday present for my paddler husband. We had people sign it with Sharpies, and then we'll seal it so he can keep it or display it. At first, he was irritated because he thought I had people sign his 'good paddle,' which cost a lot more. The look and feel of this impressed him, especially considering the price, as it compares to a paddle that costs three times as much. Four times the price, and I'm very pleased.
The paddles weren't in the right order. Two of them were purchased. They had different tones or finishes in terms of appearance. The rest of the experience was satisfactory. They were only doing PRIME on the extra-long ones for people taller than 6 feet. That's a little shady on Amazon's part.
Like yo momma, you glide through the water.
br>My first paddle has been with me for over 18 years and shows no signs of stopping. My favorite paddle is without a doubt - for life.
From wood laminates to full carbon fiber, the Bending Branch line boasts superior craftsmanship. The paddle is 11 degrees bent and has a light weight. I figured you'd use it with the bend in your direction. After receiving it, I discovered it to be the polar opposite! It also includes a helpful tip for avoiding rock injuries. Furthermore, they are light and appealing to the eye.
There was a small nick from the high hand grip, but I'm not the easiest on my paddles, so it's not a big deal.
