NRS Men's Riptide Paddling Jacket

I'm going to keep one and give my son the other. The rain coats we were using needed to be replaced. It is very comfortable to have shoulder space. Paddle coats are not just modified raincoats with the addition of a drawstring or wrist bands. These are definitely designed with full consideration for kayaker movements. I know that should be obvious, but most paddle coats simply have a drawstring or waistband I really like the wrist bands. My arm was no longer dripping with water. There are some nice features in this jacket, such as the hood and adjustable neck. I recommend looking at the size chart. If you are 'fluffy,' go for a larger size. With room for the skirt under it and a sweatshirt or layering, it fits well. If you are on the top edge of the chart, however, you may need to go up a size. This jacket has all the characteristics I look for in a jacket -- good fit, good look, waterproof, good protection from The only way to make it better is to make the waste sealing band match the color of the gaskets and to add velcro sleeves to the neoprene hand sealing bands. Thus, the jacket seal would be applied to the hand, and the glove seal applied to the Sleeves are tightly fitted over gloves and have Velcro fasteners. A dream layering experience and a better looking result as well.

The kayak was purchased for kayaking on a relatively calm lake in cold weather. Heats you up when the outside temperature is 45 - 50 degrees An underlayer of 50 with a light thermal. There are concerns about the breathability since it will allow perspiration to build up inside, but I wear a few light layers under it so I won't notice until after this garment is removed. Paddling in these kayaks is very comfortable and lightweight.
