These were chosen after reading the reviews. They worked perfectly this past weekend when I used them. The discs on them that keep water from running down the handle and into your hands were ideal; they were sturdy but not overly so. It's going to be a fantastic day for kayaking.

It was a good paddle. It could be a little lighter, but that's not a deal breaker. It's a pleasant experience. The river is where it is most commonly used.
