Selected User Reviews For OCEANBROAD Kayak Paddle 230CM/90.5 Inches Premium Carbon Shaft Kayaking Boating Oar with Paddle Leash
Not at all what they said. The shaft is made of extruded aluminum, not carbon fiber (or even fiberglass or composite), and the blades appear to be plain plastic. The fit between the two pieces is poor, and the paddle is heavier than advertised. This is a low-cost $30-per-month option. 40 paddle, which bears only a passing resemblance to the one I requested. It's a bait and switch, so don't fall for it.
I got where I needed to go and it worked fine, though I did get a blister on my thumb on the aluminum shaft if I hadn't paddled in a while. br>I enjoy researching my hobbies, so I've been upgrading all of the little things on the kayak and adding cool accessories, and I've been seeing more and more about the value of investing in a good paddle. br>I came across this one in this price range (I can't justify spending $200 on a paddle). yet) to receive the most positive feedback and reviews. Every paddle's comments had flaws, but the flaws on this paddle seemed to be the ones I could live with the most, whereas the majority of commenters had none at all. So I went ahead and bought it. br>br>I am extremely pleased with my purchase! It's made a significant difference in my ability to paddle long distances with confidence. In the water, it's a lot more comfortable. In my hands, the carbon fiber shaft feels soft but sturdy. Blisters were not present. Actually, I'm not even close to getting a blister. If you're looking to replace your stock paddle, this is an excellent option. The less expensive paddles will be more similar to a stick. There are carbon shaft paddles that are possibly $20 cheaper, but I found this one to be the right length and shape paddle for me - long and slender, allowing me to glide effortlessly through the water while propelling me forward. It really does make a difference. And now I have my stock paddle tucked away in the kayak as a backup. When I'm near the shore and it's rocky, I pull that one out and don't mind if it gets scuffed. My new baby will be well looked after while the old paddle takes care of the dirty work - Buy with confidence!br>br>laughbr>laughbr>laughbr>laughbr>laughbr>.
I didn't get a carbon fiber paddle with my first paddle. It looks like a metal shaft with carbon fiber-like printed or painted graphics. It appears to be excellent. br> It was, however, just a paddle with a metal shaft. br>To their credit, the seller got in touch with me and replaced the paddle with one with a carbon fiber shaft. They apologized and stated that the problem was due to a shipping error. br>I'm glad they were able to straighten out the misunderstanding. br>I'm still perplexed as to why the seller would produce products that appear to be identical but are of different quality. br>To summarize, if you get a genuine carbon fiber shaft, this is a good deal. Make sure everything is in order.
To begin, the shaft is made of aluminum and is wrapped in a decorative "carbon" wrap. Because the thickness is comparable to that of a US postage stamp, I call it decorative. It's insignificant and, in my opinion, wouldn't add any strength. br>br>In addition, the leash I received is not the same as the one pictured in the product description. Both leashes have Velcro on one end and a plastic clip on the other, and I ordered two paddles. The clips are made of plastic and are not very long lasting. br>br>The paddles appear to be the same as those available for $39 from the company. 99, but the shaft is wrapped in a decorative pattern. It does not, in my opinion, justify an $89. 00 price tag. Because I haven't used the paddles, I can't comment on their longevity. For a basic paddle, they appear to be adequate. I was dissatisfied with the product description because it was misleading.
When compared to an AquaBound Eagle Ray Carbon, the OCEANBROAD is slightly heavier and less efficient, but these drawbacks are far outweighed by the price. Paddling, I couldn't tell much of a difference, but perhaps with more time. The carbon shaft is well-made and made of solid carbon (no fiberglass). The inside of the shaft is sealed with foam plugs, and the connection between the two halves is solid, but the locking spring feels cheap and is the paddle's weakest component. Plastic is used for the blades. They flex a little, but they can withstand more abuse than carbon/fiberglass blades, such as being dropped on rocks. Overall, for $90, this paddle provides excellent value.
It's a great paddle that's both strong and light. Carbon fiber is 5 times stronger than steel and weighs less, allowing you to paddle for longer periods of time without becoming exhausted. A paddle leash is included as well. Anyone who owns a kayak will benefit from this product. Paddles made of carbon fiber range in price from $200 to $400. This is a fantastic deal at $300, and it's also of good quality.
This paddle performed admirably for the price. I used it on a 12-mile kayak trip and it was so light that my arms didn't get tired. I was able to keep going by pushing enough water with blades. A second one would be purchased.
To give it a nice finish and smooth texture, I used some automotive wax in a few applications. It's got a foam insert to keep it afloat. 2x the size of paddles Without a doubt, three times the price. If you're looking for a kayak paddle for under a hundred dollars, this is a no-brainer. When compared to their $250 paddles, my friends are envious of the high value for such a low price.
