The shipping weight is 2 pounds and 32 ounces. Packing materials like cardboard boxes, plastic bags, and instruction sheets will account for some of that weight. I'm guessing the paddle will be around 20 oz. I'd appreciate it if someone could weigh in and correct me.
The aqua Bound Sting Ray is light as a feather, and each manufacturer has a size chart that compares height to boat width. Before you go any further, what are the factors to consider when buying a paddle? Do you prefer to paddle at a low or high angle?
There are no ribs on this shirt. Alum is smoother than this. However, the carbon material adds a subtle texture. It isn't at all unpleasant. All of mine have yak grips, and they're fantastic paddles. Mine is one of my favorites.
I put my hands on them and gripped them. It was simple to put them on.

Today was the first time I had used mine. To be honest, I was expecting it to be returned. After spending nearly $200 on a paddle, I figured if it didn't impress me, I'd go back. br>This was my third time out with my touring kayak, rather than the recreational kayak I'd been using for the previous decade. br>With my $50 paddle, the kayak had already made an impression on me. This paddle had to really impress me in order for me to keep it. br>I kayaked twice as far because of it. I had no idea how much of a difference a paddle could make. br>It was a windy day, which is usually when I paddle high angle, and it held up well; after 6 miles, I switched to low angle, and it was still great. br>This paddle has a special place in my heart. I honestly expected to be underwhelmed and return it, but there was no way in hell I was going to do that. br>Please note that I have never handled a Warner or a high-end paddle, but I am used to aluminum shaft plastic paddles. It's incredible. It took me about a half-hour to adjust to the weight difference, but once I did, I was hooked. br>Do yourself a favor and read it. If you are a true kayaking enthusiast. Not just for an hour or two a week, but I genuinely enjoy exploring and traveling long distances. splurge. Get. This. Paddle.
Paddle is nice and light and has one really nice feature: a feature that allows you to change the angle of each paddle with ease - As a result, one paddle can be angled one way and the other paddle can be angled another way. It takes about 2 seconds to change the angle, and it just clicks (firmly) into place. I was glad to get the longer version of this paddle for my paddle board because the angle to the water is so low when using a kayak paddle for a paddle board rather than a kayak. Well- built and arrived a day ahead of schedule.
I'm very pleased. To be fair, I've only ever paid $40 for a paddle before. The blades were made of plastic and had an aluminum shaft. They were, however, a million times better than the paddles that came in the same box as the inflatable boats. When I got a real kayak, I also got some real paddles. at some point My shoulders were much happier with the new paddles in the same kayak and on the same trip. The paddles are half the weight of the paddles, which comes as no surprise. There is no play at all in the connection between the two parts. The blades are slightly smaller than my old ones, so there is a slight difference in acceleration. However, this is compensated for by the ability to maintain a faster pace for longer, and they don't flutter in the water nearly as much. Paddling is very smooth. It's fun to play around with fine feathering adjustments. I'm not at 90 degrees like I used to be, but 15 degrees off flat feels more natural. The shaft's grip is excellent, and I never felt my hand slipping. It does feel a little more delicate than my old aluminum paddle, but I believe that's just a psychological thing. I've only put 35 miles on these, but I've treated them the same way and they've never let me down. I also removed all of the stickers. br>br> I think I saved about 2 grams.
What a difference a good paddle can make in your kayaking experience. This paddle exceeded my expectations in terms of making the ride more comfortable, faster, and less tiring. The money was well spent. Until I bought this kayak, I was using the paddles that came with it.
It was less expensive than the Werner Camano I bought two years ago, but it performed just as well. My only wish is that it came in a variety of colors.
It's been a year since I got it, and it's still going strong. There aren't any problems with it. It's not too heavy. Take my opinion for what it's worth, as I'm a beginner flatwater kayaker. br>NOTE: THIS PAGE HAS BEEN UPDATED. After two years, I'm still going strong in the water. There were no problems at all.
This super-expensive item The achy shoulders that I used to get after a second hour of paddling have vanished thanks to light paddling. Both halves are easily detachable and reassembleable. The grip areas of the shaft are slightly oval and have some surface texture, making it easy to grip even when the thumbs are on top. The blade glides through the water with ease, and its attack angle is easy to control. It consistently delivers when a powerful stroke is required. It was also the cheapest all-around option. carbon- In August of 2015, I was able to locate a fiber paddle. The purchase has exceeded my expectations. Thank you to Amazon, AquaBound, Bending Branches, and Bending Branches (who delivered in three days).
This is an excellent lightweight paddle. What a difference it makes compared to my aluminum shaft paddle. The blades on the String Ray paddle don't flex like they did on my aluminum paddle, so it glides through the water much more smoothly. This isn't the lightest carbon paddle on the market, but for the price, it's a worthwhile purchase.
