Normally, I would wait a while before writing a review, but this is incredibly stable! It's on a 12-inch screen for me. I'm in a 16-foot kayak with a pole extension attached to my action camera mounted on it. The camera remains extremely stable throughout the entire process and does not move an inch. It never wavered, even when I was jolted around by passing boats. It's incredibly simple to put together and adjust; just make sure you get a plate to go with it. I'm glad I got it, and I'm sure we'll get another one soon.
The soft mounting ball is the only drawback I have with it. The ball will smoosh up if you tighten it too much. I've lost mine a few times while paddling, and the most recent time it fell into the marsh. Both pieces had to be replaced. Apart from that, it's a fantastic piece of work.
This works perfectly on the yolk rail of my Old Town Discovery Sportsman 119. It's simple to set up, move, and use, and while it's not cheap, it's reasonable in comparison to the product's excellent quality.
This is where I keep my fishtrax depth finder, which is mounted on the floor in front of my kayak seat. It's very convenient, and once I tighten it, it stays put. I like it.
It's a little pricey for what it is. . . but it's great otherwise. I leave it loose enough to adjust the angle, but tight enough to keep it from moving.
It was possible because of me. I should've paid more attention. Larger tracks, like those found on most kayaks, will not be created by this method. I like the product, but I had to order a different 1/4 20 screw and bracket to fit rails from a different manufacturer; otherwise, everything is fine! The bracket that fits my rail is similar to the Hotshoe month brackets found on professional cameras.
Highly recommended for its durability and sturdiness. It won't move if you add a tiller to it.
