This is a decent smb, but the over-pressure valve is missing and the regulator cannot be used to inflate it. Rather than an emergency right-angle marker, it is more of a surface smb. It is also possible for water to get into the interior.
You set it all up so well! My favorite thing about this spool is the net that holds it. The quality of the product appears to be excellent. Getting it to work is only a challenge since it can only be inflated orally. It is not possible to fill with your second It would have helped if I had read the description closely. The design of this product is a deal breaker for me and I will be.
After spending 45 minutes on the surface waiting for a boat for an hour, I decided it was time to cook them myself. There are a lot of instructions that look complicated to me. This was done by skipping between knots every 10 feet and a 15 foot safety marker because we will only be drift diving with this. The process was incredibly simple as a result. I think a little more info on how to best use it could have been given from that point on. However, talking with one of the dive masters cleared it up and I threw the instructions away. When you inflate at depth, make sure your finger is beyond the spool and it is not connected to your body.
My unit was sent back because it did not have an over-pressure relief valve, despite seeming to be of good quality. At the time I made the purchase, I believed that it did, but I was wrong.
Fortunately, I didn't have to deploy it deliberately yet, but I'm confident it will work as intended. There is one complaint I'd like to make (and it's it requires VELCO to hold the spool IN and the bungee to keep everything rolled up! My goal was to go underwater twice without unraveling the rope. I failed to do that, and twice the rope came unraveled, which of course freaked everyone out.
Although I have not used this under water yet, this looks in great shape and looks like a quality item. We can't be too safe with it.
Worked as described, but have not yet had a chance to use in a dive, but plan to take it to the lake to test.
I bought two, and we used them like five or six times without any problems so far.
