Does it have a full titanium coating or just a titanium coating?

I really don't think it's full titanium, because that one costs 100+

When it comes to salt water, how does it hold up?

It arrived completely dull, but it was a decent knife
3/5

The pros are This is a nice looking design It is very heavy duty and the sheathe is strong It has a spring loaded ejection, rubberized handle that is easy to grip and keeps the item secure. The cons are This sharpening job wuld make a garbage can go out of control - it takes a long time to do - and it's heavy. Upon arrival, the blade was too dull to do any cutting. Until it is sharp enough to use on the water, I will need to spend time sharpening it. The one I am on the fence about is really complicated, I am far from completely satisfied with it.

On the NRS Chinook, they are a little too large
5/5

The reason I ordered this knife was to attach it to my NRS Chinook Life Jacket. There is a pilot and a co-pilot The price of the pilot and the pilot was the same, so I picked the pilot for "more knife for the money. ". I love this knife, it fits in the sheath well, and is very well made. What's the problem? The handle of the PFD interferes with pockets when attached to the PFD with the handle down. The knife is nice, but it is not well suited for the particular purpose I had in mind. I am tempted to keep it, but it is not the best knife for the job. Then I will swap it for the co-op card My opinion is that the Chinook will fit much better with the Pilot which is the knife that I have seen on Besides the knives I use on my kayak, I have other tools I use for cutting bait and In the event that I fall in the drink, this will be the knife that will be on me. You can put it on hold and forget about it My vest has a pocket on the left side every time I reach into it. If it is in the way every time I reach for it, then I will always be reminded of it. Excellent product, good service, but.

It's Cheap
3/5

There must have been a better way, since I regret this spontaneous purchase. In the event of an emergency, I will put this on my PFD for my kayak fishing trips, but I would not put my life in its hands. The steel is 420, and it is the cheapest quality steel in China and the lowest possible grade knife steel. Out of the box, it is dull as can be. One side is supposed to be sharpened so it is only a single edge. However, it is a cheap steel which will not hold its edge well and will have a short life. A better anchor would be made with this thing. I'll be back as soon as possible.

A perfect knife for just in case
3/5

I plan to keep it attached to my personal defense device as a 'just in case' knife. The plain edge portion of the knife will need to be sharpened, but I think it is not a major issue. It is normally not my style to use serrated blades, but this one cuts rope extremely well. It is an option that I am glad to have, even if I hope I won't require it in the future. It is a great knife for the price. * Added after using. Thought I'd write how I felt after using the knife for a while. In my experience, I've used it a few times for cutting duties, and it's an average product at best. The steel isn't of good quality and doesn't hold an edge particularly The system still works well when used in a just in case fashion, but can be improved greatly. Eventually, I sharpened the back side so I actually had a practical length of edge on the back side. My hammer had a very slight corrosion crack, but I'm sure they would have denied warranty due to me sharpening it. Thus, I am downgrading my rating.

Sailing is not a good use for this knife
3/5

It does not make sense to me why people are calling this a good sailing knife. What I was looking for was a reasonably priced knife that could cut through lines, everything else is an added bonus. During my testing on my boat where I race, it was not able to get through one of our lines. It would be a horrible experience if I were in a desperate situation and had to rely on a pen to cut through a line in three strokes or less. While the NRS Neko did a much better job of cutting through the lines than my other knife, its sheath is not very functional for the deck vest. I hoped this would be my panacea, but I'm still searching for a single solution.

An okay bottle opener it is safe to use on the PFG, but it does not perform its function
3/5

While I hope I'll never need it, I consider it to be an essential safety device. The bottle opener has been tested and worked as expected. I was easily able to slip it onto the PFD and it stayed in place. The release can be easily accomplished. This week's update I had to trim the material for the first time with it. I ended up cutting myself on the 'blunt' tip of paracord because it was not strong enough to cut through it. A waste of money, it goes without saying.

However, it would not be worth my life if I lived Despite appearing to be sturdy and of good quality, the knife was dull when it arrived
3/5

If you want it sharpened, you will have to do so When I tried cutting different types of cords, ropes, and lines with it, I was not pleased with the results. It is hard to sharpen the rope cutter at the base of the blade because it is dull. It can be difficult to cut ropes or lines that are larger, because the blade hangs. Even if there were an emergency, I don't know how I'd trust it if I fell overboard and got entangled in something or fell overboard. The problem is primarily a design flaw rather than a quality issue. It fits nicely on a PFD, and I like how it looks.

The holster impressed me at first, but eventually I became disenchanted with it
3/5

The only way I could give it 5 stars would be if I could see it in person. A knife like this would make a great asset on the water and has a great feel to it. There was a time when I had a strong feeling about the knife holster, but that appears to have been unfounded. The knife fell right off the sailboat that I took it out on its first outing with me. Now it resides at the bottom of the lake! As it ought, the knife was firmly seated in its holster but a dip in the water was all it took to make it disappear. I'm very disappointed by this.
