Selected User Reviews For Pro-Tec Classic Certified Skate Helmet
Pros: • The certified helmet is made of hard foam padding and will keep your head safe from serious injuries. br>• Pros: It appears to be fashionable. br>br>Cons: It does not appear to be fashionable. br>br> • The inner liner is uncomfortable; • Sweat causes the inner liner to degrade; The glue that holds the velcro in place loosens, and the thin cloth that covers the foam simply falls offbr>• • Sweat pools up inside the helmet and drips into your eyesbr>br>This isn't the worst helmet out there, and it will definitely keep your head safe. br>br>• Replacement liners are hard to come by, and they're so expensive that you might as well replace the entire helmetbr>br> For about the same money, however, you can get a Triple 8 Certified Sweatsaver, which addresses all of the drawbacks I've mentioned. Once my Pro-Liner was installed, I was able to use it as a liner in my When Tec broke down, I switched to Triple 8 and haven't looked back.
For my 12-year-old son, I purchased this helmet. Fits perfectly and does not appear "cheesy. " " For the money, it's a great helmet, and he enjoys wearing it. It's very comfortable for him, and he doesn't think he looks silly wearing it. First and foremost, safety, but if it isn't "cool," my children will refuse to wear it. Because my other children were envious, we placed an order for them as well. Helmets are now being worn by everyone in the neighborhood. Who'd have guessed it would be so simple to lead by example?.
This helmet was purchased in conjunction with the Triple 8 dual certified helmet. In terms of protection, both helmets are nearly identical. I read several reviews that compared the shapes of both helmets, with Protec being the rounder of the two. Because of its oval shape, the Triple 8 is more popular. I bought both to compare because I wasn't sure how my head would fit. The difference in shape between the helmets can be seen clearly. This helmet, on the other hand, is definitely round and will better fit a round head shape. My head has more of a mushroom shape to it, and there is more space (loose) in the temples, so yes, it is round, and I've realized my head is more oval in shape. The triple 8 is definitely more oval, and it fits my head better all around, with no gaps near the temples. The protec is quite thin, even with the padding! Triple 8 offers two different thicknesses of liners, the thinner of which is still thicker than the Protec. br>br>Long story short, same exact helmets in terms of safety as Triple 8, Protect for round head, and liner is a joke! I'd give it a four if my head was round and it was a good fit for me. The liner gets a one-star deduction.
barely. I'm a big guy with a big head. I ordered the XXL, which is just a smidgeon too small. It fits on my head, but I'm aware that the pressure will result in those irritating red lines on my forehead. br>I'm just glad I found a company that sells XXL clothing. Even if I look ridiculous with my massive skull and this massive helmet atop my dome, the helmet itself is quite nice. br>It'll do the trick, and my two-year-old son can't get enough of it.
For over 15 years, I've worn protec helmets while skating, skateboarding, and even horseback riding. They're a fantastic product that does exactly what they're supposed to do: protect your head! br> I recently purchased a new one from here, and it fits perfectly. I like the improved, more comfortable padding, which does not compromise the level of impact protection in any way. br>As I teach my son to skateboard and ride his scooter, I'll be purchasing a new helmet for him. It's one of the only brands I trust, and it's also saved my head on numerous occasions!.
ones that have been "certified" I was overjoyed to come across this one as a new skateboarder; I had no intention of getting one of the non-certified ones. It seems insane to me that they would even try to market a product like this, but it's fantastic. It's a perfect fit for me, as well as sturdy and comfortable. The large amount of ventilation allows for plenty of airflow without sacrificing safety. Finally, it adheres to the skin well and adjusts gracefully. br>br>As well as the quality, there is a reasonable price.
Helmets are difficult for me to purchase because my noodle is narrower than round. This will do for now- ish. I purchased some additional padding in order to improve the fit, and it has improved to the point where it is nearly acceptable. All of that is more me than this helmet, and it would keep my brains in a safe place in the event of a disaster. The chin strap/mounting system is unreliable, so it gets a one-star rating. It would be a lot better if it went all the way to your chin, but I suppose that's what you get for the price, and if it fits your noggin, it's a great deal. I'm going to go ahead and get a Team Wendy.
My black large helmet arrived today and fits perfectly; my head is just under 23" in circumference. I had to adjust the strap and use all of the available length, but it fit perfectly. The helmet also comes with some decals, but I'm going to use a Route 66 decal with wings on the back. The helmet is certified and well worth the money; it also has a great appearance.
