br>This Segway is, without a doubt, the best personal transportation device that Segway, or anyone else, has ever produced. The kick scooter may have a slight advantage for longer rides, but for zipping around from place to place, this is the clear winner due to maneuverability, range, and convenience. The difference in price between the Ninebot-style and the Ninebot-style S is an obvious choice due to the increased speed (that 2. 5 mph faster than the Ninebot- S is a huge deal) and increased range (twice the Ninebot- S), as well as bigger wheels and the ability to "follow me. " It also comes with a security lock, which is useful for quick stops. Although not secure enough to leave the Segway unattended for long periods of time, it is a useful feature for quick stops or when you need to turn your back for a few minutes. After writing a letter to Segway's CEO (via snail mail) about my experience (and the fact that I am an attorney), I was contacted by a very helpful technical support programmer type. The issues I was having were caused by a firmware update that contained a serious bug that couldn't be easily fixed. The Segway team eventually figured out a manual fix for the problem, but they had to contact each owner and go through a lengthy process to do so. They did an excellent job of calling hundreds, if not thousands, of customers at all hours of the day and night. It was successful! OTHER THAN THAT, I'VE HAD NO PROBLEMS WITH MY TWO SEGWAY S- UNITS WITH EXTRAS For my wife's unit, I purchased a third-party handle (search on Google). br>br>Last but not least, there is the issue of comfort. After riding for an extended period of time, my wife and I both experience foot discomfort. I believe our feet would adjust and become accustomed to it over time, so I'm giving it a four-star rating. br>Prior to the update, there was an old review: I bought two Segway S-models ============================================================================ In addition, on the same order, I received a bonus from Amazon. Now that the SPlus that was activated and working has lost its activation and is failing the re-activation, no meaningful contact from tech support has been made. Attempts at activation result in the same error as the previous one. I now own two paperweights that cost $800 each. I've opened a new support case, and I'm still waiting for a response to the first one. br>br>Had to spend 45 minutes on the phone with Amazon customer service to get them to authorize the return of the first one. They wanted to double-check that I was following the instructions correctly.
