The reason we chose these skates for my son is The letter A. It's a winner - we love K2's It has been a tradition in our house since the 90's that we wear these. Originally, he had Abec-3 bearings, but now he wanted to upgrade to Abec-5 bearings. There is no doubt that the product description states that they are ABEC-certified The bearings appear to be five, but they aren't! Our skates are great, but we would really appreciate it if the seller made it right and sent us the right thing.
These rollerblades I bought a couple months ago for my son, who is 6 years old. Blades are awesome, no issues, but the Velcro strap on one of the boots came undone after just a few days of use. The system cannot easily be replaced, as far as I know. In order to keep him safe as he jumps the ramps at the local skateboard park, I am now adding makeshift straps. I think these skates are a good choice for young children and they are well constructed. There is a rubber brake shoe stop instead of a plastic one, which is certainly enough for an abec 3. With the easy shoelace tie, you only need to pull up and clip the shoelace. They will probably need an adjustable boot for around two, three, and four years, depending on their feet's growth rate. It's a great pair of skates I highly recommend.
When I bought a pair of these skates for my grandson two years ago for Christmas, he still outgrew them despite the extensions that are built into the skates. The first pair I bought were too small for him, so I ordered a second one. Because the only issue with the first pair was size, I'm confident that these skates will last for many years. I was very satisfied with the value I received for the price I paid.
These roller blades were perfect for our 9 year old's new roller hockey pursuit! They fit well, roll well, and enable him to be the beginning of the team after just a few practices (and quite a bit of practice during summer break at home, at work and outside). It's well worth the money! That they will be able to grow with him over the next couple of years is so wonderful!.
