The space is tight, but it's not cramped. These are extremely relaxing.
This is something I have to deal with on a regular basis, as well as sizing. I'm classified as xlg by Amazon. I couldn't get the last few pairs of shorts over my hips because they were XL! I'm still learning, so I could be completely wrong. 1x = 16w, I believe. I believe Xlg is smaller in the hips and chest, perhaps an inch or two. Approximately a 1" Take into account that the vast majority of items are manufactured in China and are typically smaller than charts.

These shorts were ordered as a replacement for my total knee replacement. I'm 5'2" and weigh 150 pounds, so I went with the large size for a more relaxed fit. My knees are covered by my shorts. Fabric is nice, not as thick as sweatpants, but more substantial than the thin jersey shorts. Two deep front pockets for your phone or lip balm, plus a nice back pocket. The drawstring is sewn into a stitched channel in the waistband. The elastic will not roll as a result of this. The color I chose was charcoal. No pilling has occurred so far. It's extremely comfortable to sit in or do physical therapy in. I would strongly suggest it.
It's not flimsy, but it's made of good material. It's convenient to have pockets. For us older bags, this is a good length: ) I'm 67 years old, 5'6" tall, and weigh 145 pounds, and I'm on my way to the south.

The material is neither too thick nor too thin. I live in a hot climate (the desert near Las Vegas) and need something that isn't too heavy but isn't see-through or too clingy. These are ideal for me, as I am only 5 feet tall. 6in. I'm 5'10" tall and weigh 170 pounds. I ordered a Large and they fit perfectly; I've washed them once and they haven't shrunk significantly. yet. It's very relaxing.

The length is exactly what it says it is, and not too short like many "bermuda" shorts. I really like the pockets, which are hard to come by in many workout shorts. These are great for walking and jogging, but they're also great for running errands or lounging around the house. I purchased two pairs and have recently placed an order for two more. This is an excellent item.

These are what I use to work out with. They don't ride up and don't have a perfect fit. I'm 5'9" tall and 190 pounds. I purchased three pairs in xlarge and they are perfect. When you come across something so good, you have to buy it while it's still available.
After losing some weight, I bought these for a vacation. With my bathing suit, I felt extremely comfortable and attractive in them. I really like how deep the pockets are for holding my phone.
In Small, I bought the gray charcoal. Material is very soft, and it washes well. I'm 5'10", 104 pounds, with a 28" waist and a 35-year-old body. Hips are 5", and you have a tummy. The shorts have a loose fit, a supple waistband, and a length that falls just above the knee cap. I really like the two deep front pockets and the right back pocket. This is the short to get if you want comfort and room to grow after eating, functionality for athletics or just running around, and a non-flattering shape. Love it!.
