I had no idea they were only to be washed by hand. I've been washing them in the washing machine the whole time and they've been fine; perhaps they say to wash them by hand to extend their life? I'm not sure, but I'm sure machine washing will suffice.

It's very relaxing! These were purchased for a variety of reasons: Sleep, a lazy day, a workout, and summer clothing are all things that come to mind when thinking about summer. And they live up to the hype. They're made of neoprene, which is similar to the material used in dri-fit. The fit material dries quickly and thoroughly. They're stretchy, which makes them ideal for workouts and runs, and they don't make a lot of noise while walking, which is a big plus for me. True to size. br>br> Even when I'm at my leanest, I'm a naturally bulky guy with big thighs. So, despite the fact that my upper body wears an XL, my lower waist wears a 2xl. To compare the two sizes, I purchased both 2xl and 3xl. 2xl is a true fit that is best for those who prefer their clothing to be worn close to their skin. 3xl is much looser and ideal for lazy/comfy days as well as hot summer days. They do have a waist string, which can be used to resize the waist if it's too big.

Very comfortable and quick to dry, but the appearance is a little baggy. It's easy to forget you're wearing them because they're so comfortable. Swimming causes them to dry quickly. The elastic is a good fit. They're small and light when it comes to packing. The only issue is that they appear to be oversized. They're probably not the kind of shorts you'd wear on a beach date.
These were an odd fit that accentuated the crotch to the point of being obscene. The length was excellent, but the rest of the package was a no-no. The return, thankfully, was simple.
It fits well around the waist, but they're very short in length; I understand I ordered shorts, but these are so short that you'd be better off wearing Daisy Duke shorts.

Take it to the gym or on a hike to get the most out of it. A nice touch are the zippered pockets. I was so pleased with my purchase that I went out and purchased two more pairs.
