Questions & Answers

Is it possible to run tubes in tires?

There is no need to use a tube with this tire.

Are you able to expect these tires to last approximately how many miles?

Two thousand seven hundred fifty miles have been ridden on these tires on the Tour Divide. I had to replace the rear tire that was worn down and couldn't provide the necessary traction when climbing single track. I was still able to use the front tire at home over single track trails for the rest of the season.

Do you have any tires of a particular size in stock It is not stated anywhere what size it is. I appreciate your help. ?

The product was exactly what was Rolling on a hard surface in dry or hardpack conditions
5/5

It seems to be the right width for me. have been several reports of tires that are too narrow. It is not always clear how many cyclists who use the reviews understand that the inner diameter and inner rim depth of rims are important When tires are new, they are at their highest pressures Having it measure about 2 inches directly impacts the width of the tire on the bike. For me, it measures about 2 inches. The first one". A tubeless tire is simple to mount - just follow these instructions - Over the years I have used Vittoria TNT trail tires and they have all proven to be some of the most trusted, robust and flat-free tires I've ever In addition to their black frame look, they also look good in a silver frame. Hence, Vittoria describes the Mezcal as a dry-terrain tire. I'd say they’re right on the money with that description. There are varying conditions in the singletrack in Phoenix, ranging from hardpack, loose over hard, to kitty litter, to crushed chonk, to sliced shale, and to babyheads with occasional slick patches. Rock pitches of varied sizes. Currently I am using a Mezcal as my rear XC tire along with a Barzo as my front tire This is mostly due to a lack of frame clearance. As soon as I climb on really loose, deep crushed chonk - the Mezcal starts to break down - It will be a bit difficult to turn the tire I do think, however, that low profile tires under about 2 inches are an acceptable choice. When weather conditions are like that, you can expect the 6" to spin. It would have been nice if the cornering performance could be better on downhills, but with such fast-rolling tires I didn't expect miracles. Whenever tradeoffs are made, they are always worth considering. The only minor occurrence I can recall was a wipeout on mild kitty litter that I couldn't explain The only difference was that I was running the rear Mezcal, which seems to have decreased cornering traction on anything but hardpack in loose conditions. However, there are other issues to address XC tire that rolls quite fast and is very responsive. Rided at the rear, tubeless with a rider weighing 165lbs, I run it at 23-28 mph I have only reached 24 psi, which is quite low to reach this tire width and have not yet hit the rim yet. The thick sidewalls are to thank for this. In my opinion, going any lower would not be beneficial. There is no sign of a cape or a cape opening, and the rear wall seems The reason I switched back to Vittoria TNT tires was precisely because I ripped a sidewall on some Maxxis Ikons that tore like tissue on my bog standard ride. This rear Mezcal has lasted for at least 30 rides since I installed it. There are a number of rock strike spots on the sidewall that would have likely caused the thinner walls to be torn.

If most of your riding is flow trails and hardpack, and cornering isn't important, then you might want to consider skis with a clearance of at least 25mm. There is a trade-off between speed & efficiency If durability and reliability are your top priorities, then this tire would be a good choice.

The best of the best Assists in the integration of the best all-around tire for a variety of sports
5/5

This is a great xc tire that rolls fast on hardpack, does well on hard surfaces, and does well It also rolls very smoothly on all types of surfaces, including pavement, so you can ride to the trailhead as well. This is a good choice for rain or muddy rides. The tread is not too aggressive but unless you're riding deep mud, this is a good choice. I have a Niner Sir hardtail that weighs 35 pounds. The bike I have is the one I use for trail/gravel/bikepacking.

Tires that are great
5/5

Having used these all summer on my 29er bikepacking bike, I'm in love with The wheels are excellent for riding hardpack, gravel, and some loose stuff, as long as you are not There's an air of smoothness and quiet on the pavement as well.

The fast rolling method The MAXXIS Ardent was the previous model I was riding on my rigid singlespeed XC race bike
5/5

What a great improvement! The riding is much more comfortable, faster, and it corners very well. For a 2, this is a high volume. Plows through boulders and roots at speed! There's a second Mexcal on the way since I really love it. On the rear there are 35.

During my time with Vittoria, I suffered three setbacks
3/5

It is very disappointing for me. It has taken 3 tries for these tires to perform well. Yes, I have blown out these tires twice in the past. I have been having a hard time with my Mezcals. They were raved about by my friends who raced XC with them. I bought a Barzo 2 at the same time as the one at the rear. I love the way they look. During the race on Sunday, I had a lot of fun. This was my first trip with them and I was pleased. There are 52 miles and 7,200 feet of climbing in this ride. My excitement level was through the roof. On our first visit to Green's Lick in Bent Creek, my buddy and I finished tearing down a rock drop about a quarter way into the day. Even though I knew it was a rock descent, I still did it. With my 35 dollar continental cross kings, I have had better success. I returned both because they had only been in the store for one week. I can at least thank Amazon for helping me with that. I will never repeat that mistake. The Maxxis Rekon 2 I just purchased was a great purchase. Besides the High Roller II 2, there is a High Roller I will be wearing 3 out of Let me know you won't disappoint me.

This tire is fast and capable, and it was easy to set it The items were purchased to replace a set of WTB werewolves
5/5

As of late, I've been riding less technical and more hardpacked surfaces, so I wanted to try something faster. My hand pump made it very easy for me to set these up tubeless. I'm used to high speeds and a lot of noise, but these are way quieter. It has been a great experience for my first two rides, but I'm not sure how long it will last. Excellent tires for those who want a less aggressive MTB tire but still want a fast ride.

My maxxis ardent 2 lasted 9 years before finally giving up in 2016, so let's see if this one lasts that long, too
4/5

So far there have been no problems. After several years of using the maxxis ardent, I finally blistered out after about 8 years, with about one year experimenting with other tires like specialized, etc. Specialized tires never lasted more than one year, while the maxxis crossmark didn't last. During the last few years of the bike, I threw the worn-out Maxxis Ardent tyre in the back of the bike until it blew up. It's a shame that I didn't buy another Ardent, but I was unable to find it, so I figured I'd try something else instead.

The ETRO number on the tire is what you need to use
5/5

Mounted instead of 50-size tires Two of the items were purchased. This tire has a 52-mm width as indicated on the side of the tire. Ran on the front of it today on a 26-mm We were able to travel one mile of dirt and hard pack rail trails at 45 PSI and it was fast and manageable. This is an easy to install system. In the future, it will be used on the rear of the bike and the arm on the front for my mixed single track rides.
I finally tried it out on After releasing a little bit of air over the roots, I felt confident.
