Questions & Answers

Will these tires make it easier for me to find a date?

They will, but they must be cautious of the ramifications. I didn't use a condom because these tires are supposed to be extra protective. The GF has now revealed that she is expecting twins. Where did the safeguards go?

Will I be able to travel backwards in time if I mount the tire in the opposite direction?

Just to make sure we're on the same page. This entire discussion is important. However, if the 700x32c tires are mounted on a unicycle, wheelies are possible. However, you have been warned about a phenomenon that will inevitably cause your axle to rotate around its axis while the tires remain stationary. That's how good they brake! When it happened the first time, I was thrown off. It's something you'll have to get used to.

However, it is a silly question. Is it true that BOTH tires are included?

What's the difference between 700x23 and 700x25, and which is quicker?

There's a lot of nonsense in this article. Width isn't the same as diameter or circumference, and it has nothing to do with bead spacing (which is determined by the rim) or road contact (which is influenced more by inflation and mass). It's the tire's approximate linear width at its widest point, which is roughly halfway between where it contacts the rim and the road, and it has little bearing on performance. Construction and materials play a much bigger role in efficiency, durability, weight, and traction. Less space is encased by thinner tires. They're made for higher pressures, tighter corners, lower rolling resistance, and low rotating mass, with little thought given to comfort or replacement frequency. Their design skews toward speed over all other considerations, not only because they're skinnier, but also because design differences are based on the assumption that anyone mounting them is only interested in speed. If that describes you and you'll take care of them, 23mm is your ticket to ride. However, the difference between 23mm and 23mm is significant. The difference in size between 25mm tires of similar construction is so small that it's unpredictably unpredictable. The issue is this: What is the degree of similarity in their construction? Continental alone is aware of the situation.

It Just Feels Good to Have Superior Puncture Protection

I've been wanting to get my hands on these for over a year. It took me a long time to justify the purchase of an 80-dollar item. However, I had purchased a less expensive set of Hutchinson tires that had received positive feedback in some of the bike magazines I read. And with that purchase, I finally had a place to call home in over a year. Prior to that, I had been using Specialized black belted tires that came with my Allez. They are 55 dollars per tire, which is why I was looking for a less expensive alternative. Throughout the year, I ride 5000 miles. That's more than a hundred meters per week, and I'm frequently alone. After having the flat, the Gators' price of $80 was easily justified. I gave these five stars just for the peace of mind they provide. After making this purchase, I happened to come across a video comparing rolling resistance between this tire and several others from Continental. While the harder shell of this tire provides superior puncture resistance (Gator Hardshell tires are the hardest), it also makes it a slower tire. I lost 1 to 2 mph, but being so far from home and not having to worry about a flat makes me feel better about riding far, which is why I gave these a 5 star rating. And the defeat serves as a motivator for me to improve my fitness. However, as I mentioned in the video earlier in this review, when these tires wear out, I'll be switching to Continental Grad Prix tires. They provide similar puncture protection but are a faster tire. br>I purchased the wire bead because it has a more robust side wall, but I had a hard time getting these on because of the wire. I work on a lot of bikes, and this tire is by far the most difficult to install of them all, so be prepared to fight if you get the wire. I also purchased new 60mm Continental tubes to go with them. The Continental logo and the valve stem were perfectly aligned in my mind. So, if a puncture occurs, it will be simple to locate the location in the tire. I also had a shipping issue. When I received the tire, one of the wires was bent, but I was able to straighten it out and mount it by hand. br>I noticed that some other reviewers mentioned that their tires had holes in them. They are, indeed, present in mine. I photographed them, but they are a little difficult to see in the photo. Anyway, I found out that these are wear indicators after doing some research. The tires are finished when the holes can no longer be seen. This is a great feature. Overall, I'm glad I switched to this tire, and despite the minor speed loss, I'd use it again. br>I go horseback riding in the desert (Las Vegas). As a result, I can't comment on how well these hold up in the rain. However, they appear to hold up well in my environment. I recommend taking it easy on the corners at first, as with any new tire, until you get a feel for the tire's limits; I've only put about 600 miles on these and have yet to experience a flat. If you ride in cities, however, this tire or the harder Gator Hardshell tire is for you. br>I took a number of photos in the hopes that they, along with the review, will aid in the decision-making process.

I ride 10,000 miles a year and hate fixing flats, especially when I'm nearing the end of a 200-mile ride. I've been riding Armadillo tires a lot lately, but the Specialized website has been giving me trouble, so I decided to try these Gatorskins, which have a similar flat-resistance. evidence of goodwill I've put hundreds of miles on them and have yet to experience a flat tire. br>br>They went on easily (only thumbs), but because they haven't flattened yet, I have no idea how difficult they will be to remove. They're a little slick, but I haven't had any problems with grip, even when it's been raining. These appear to be ones I'll enjoy. br>br>Recent changes: br>br> I've ridden 2000 miles on them since the beginning of April - There haven't been any flats yet! br>br>3000 miles and my first flat tire, but it was a roofing nail, not a truck tire, so it doesn't count. Continue to move forward. br>br>Final Update: br>br> 4500 kilometers - one flat nail from a roof - The rear wheel is beginning to show signs of wear. I believe I received a good value for my money. We were driving home on I70 in Colorado when the Thule mount that was holding $12,000 worth of bicycles failed, and my wife's $2,000 carbon bike was towed down the freeway at 80 mph. The bike was badly damaged, but what's interesting is that the Gatorskin tires took the brunt of it. They still held air despite being severely scraped and frayed. She might have been able to ride the bike if the pedals and rear derailleur hadn't been destroyed, which I find incredible. And, yes, I did replace them in the first place:.

A softer ride and better puncture resistance are provided by the center. On the advice of a friend who also owns some, I installed these on my road bike. My original tires were quick (low rolling resistance), but because of their uniform thickness across their width, they were prone to retaining road debris and punctures. These tires have a thicker center section, which helps them resist punctures while also providing a softer ride. I'll admit that the rubber's softness appears to increase rolling resistance slightly, but not significantly. I'd gladly accept a little extra rolling resistance in exchange for the added security of puncture resistance. These were a great replacement for me because I'm a casual rider rather than a racer.

Although the tires appear to be excellent, the rear tire tread failed far too soon

I splurged on these tires because of the positive reviews and the fact that I needed tires for my commuter that were both dependable and long-lasting. I was recently disappointed to discover a large chunk missing from the rear tire's tread, right in the middle. I remembered skidding briefly the day before as I came to a halt. When I looked at the tire more closely, I noticed that the tread is separating from the casing all the way around, which is most likely why the chunk came loose. However, the tires show very little wear overall, which is to be expected given the tire's reputation. br>br>I drive 20 miles round trip to work three times a week. Every week, four times. In my back panniers, I carry a reasonable amount of weight, perhaps 20 pounds. 25lb. My height is 6'0" and my weight is around 180 pounds. I've driven 1,250 miles on these tires in the last six months.

When I bought my trek 15 years ago, they were more popular. Tires, on the other hand, are difficult to come by these days. I ordered these because my old serfas tires were so worn out that I was concerned for my safety. I was unable to locate the same tire in my size. According to one review, one fit perfectly while the other did not. That is, in fact, what took place. When it came to the first, it was fantastic! I worked for an hour on the second one. After that, it continued to squeeze my tube. I couldn't get it to stop pinching it! I've been riding for 15 years and am capable of changing a tire in under 15 minutes. The next day, it was flat, so I spent another hour removing and replacing it. I'm irritated now. I read a similar review somewhere else that said people prefer the Kendra to this kind, so I returned these and ordered the Kendra instead.
