This part was used to rebuild 2001 Rockshox SID hydra air shocks. In order to replace another seal within the fork, another kit is required. Prying out the old seal with a screwdriver was the best way to remove it. A large amount of old foam was removed I had to cut the new foam down to fit the shock because it was too wide. In order to install the dust seal, you need a circular tube to fit over it, so that it can be pounded Thanks to a shopvac adaptor of the perfect diameter that fit over the seal, I was able to pound on the seal to change it. If you find PVC pipe, perhaps 1 to 1 in size, it will work. This is a 5 mm.
I bought these dust wipers to do an overhaul. In the end, I am very satisfied with my new pitch fork after I completely overhauled it. In order to complete my task, I works fine), socket set, oil pan, and something to measure the As a result of purchasing these dust seals along with other necessary overhaul items, my old Sid XC has been completely revived.
These techniques didn't work for me without a tool. When I attempted to press them in, the tool was too difficult to use. It is too easy for them to bend and deform. I was able to save myself shipping and handling fees since I ordered two pairs. When installing, be sure to use the right tools and to be very careful. It is too easy for them to bend.
With out the right tool, these are extremely hard to push straight in. I used a 23 or 25 mm socket and rubber mallet, but the socket was not long enough to comfortably press it in. The product description should suggest using a seal tool.
And the foam inserts became very difficult to install once they were In the end, they appear to be doing their job, as in no oil leaks past them after they have gotten everything together.
As far as I can tell, the seals on my ancient Judy seem to be working well. There is just a slight fold in one foam wiper because it was just a little bigger than spec. The hope is that it will last.
A new Judy has been created for me. My guess is that the old seals were in good shape, but the foam rings were both completely dead. We replaced the parts, greased it up, and filled the oil tank. The same as when it was.
had to do to service my fork.
