It's 31 for me.
If the seat post clamp is black, I recommend using a black permanent marker.
I have a Cannondale Trail as well, and the clamp diameter is imprinted on the stock clamp, which I believe is 35mm.
The aluminum will open up slightly as it flexes. The 36, in my opinion. The number 4 is the one you're looking for.

Seatpost Clamp, Machined 31. I no longer require the QR clamp to raise the seat because I've installed a dropper post. During my rides, I tend to slow down. Also, hopefully, this will make getting a free dropper post a little more difficult. br>br>First and foremost, the clamp looks fantastic. Made in the United States of America. The edges are perfectly straight and clean. The finish, as well as the logo, are fantastic. br>br>I'm not a "weight weenie," but for those who are or just want to learn more, the 31. The weight of the 8/32mm clamp was 18g. I removed the stock QR clamp, which weighed 52 grams. The difference in weight (on the scale, not on the trail) surprised me. br>br>The clamp is effective. It was simple to set up. Slide your seat post into the clamp's top edge, which has a lip that rests on the tube's top. The clamp should then be tightened. That is all there is to it. I've been riding every day for a week, on both double and single tracks. There was no slipping, rotation, or other issues with the clamp while going downhill. Overall, the Wolf Tooth Seatpost Clamp has exceeded my expectations. If you're in the market for a new clamp, I'd suggest this one. To get the right size, measure the outside diameter of your seatpost. br>br>Thank you for reading my review; I hope you found it useful.
I went with gold to match my black fixie's gold chain. Finishes off the build nicely. It's incredibly light and well-made. This is a stunning piece of bicycle jewelry. As a result, Because my measurements were off, I just placed an order for a third one. Make sure to use a caliper or double-check what your ruler says - Because the top of my seat tube is tapered towards the top, the measurement was off, and these clamps are very precisely made, there isn't a lot of tolerance between the different sizes. For instance, I have two bicycles with a combined weight of 27 pounds. The steel frame fixie bike requires two seatposts, while the aluminum frame fixie bike requires only one. My aluminum frame Bianchi, which is 8mm in size, fit the 31. 8mm.
This is the second clamp I've purchased. After installing a dropper post, I replaced the quick release style with this second one, which is designed for a commuter bike and does not require any adjustments once installed. br>The bolt and pivots used to close this clamp are designed in such a way that they allow for proper geometry and maximum clamping effectiveness. br>As with all Wolf Tooth products I've used, CNC machined aluminum is sublime.
It's a seatpost clamp, to be precise. So choose from the numerous options available. The fact that it's made in the United States drew me in. I also have a few of their tools (pack wrench/pack whip/pack pliers, and the innovative pack hanger alignment tool), which are all of the highest quality and something to think about if you want to get away from the parktool bandwagon (no hate, just something different than the rest of the pack ; ) I also own some of their merchandise). I'm satisfied with the outcome. I'm thinking of replacing the silver bolt with a black one.
The cheap clamp that came with my bike applied too much concentrated pressure to the very top of my seat tube, preventing the smooth operation of my dropper post. I had to limit myself to four. The seat post would still slip in the tube despite applying 5 nM of force to the clamp, causing problems with the dropper function. br>br>Believing that the clamp was the source of the problem, I went on the hunt for replacements that did a better job of distributing the force. The BikeYoke Squeezy seemed like a good fit, but price and availability were issues. br>br>I've had good luck with Wolf Tooth in the past, so I emailed them to inquire about the dimensions of this clamp, particularly the lip at the very top that prevents the clamp from sliding down the tube. They responded quickly, and the measurements appeared to be accurate. I decided to give it a try because the price was significantly lower than BikeYoke and it was a US company. br>br>The clamp is perfect; I can get it down to 6 nM with it. The post is no longer slipping, and the dropper is working perfectly. It's incredibly light and looks fantastic.
This 31 was purchased by me. For my ELECTRA TOWNIE 7d E-SLR, I went with an 8mm lens. conversion of a bicycle br>br>I have a thudbuster st and a cloud 9 seat with the original quick release seatpost clamp and wanted something with more clamping power and something to make it harder for someone to steal my $200 seatpost and seat combo. br>br>Plus it's made in the USA, so I feel better spending a few extra dollars for a clamp. They also included a security torx screw as a theft deterrent. br>br>.
My bike, like many others, came with a quick-release mechanism. I tightened the seat post release clamp to the point where closing the lever hurt my palm, but it still sank on every ride. Since I'm the only one riding my bike, I don't need a quick-release clamp. I needed to replace the release clamp, so I bought this Wolf Tooth clamp. This clamp has only needed to be adjusted once, and the seat hasn't sunk at all after several months.
The main image in the article description does not correspond to the product that was shipped. The inside of the clamp is completely smooth in the larger image. On the inside surface of the clamp I received, there is a small "lip. " This prevents the clamp from being moved to the proper location on the outside of the bicycle frame's down tube. br>br>The photo of the "pile" of items MIGHT show a lip, but it is difficult to tell. br>br>It wasn't going to fit on my bike.
