I needed to replace the seat post on my wife's bike and couldn't find one that fit, so I bought this shim. Another reviewer claimed to have received a plastic shim, but mine was not. It's made of a very light metal, most likely aluminum, according to the listing. I took the photo to demonstrate how I had to install it in order to prevent it from slipping down. The seat slipped when I pressed hard with all of my weight if I installed it flush all the way to the bottom. So I slid up the shim until it met the ridge on the seat post, and it stopped sliding. (BTW - I can't rotate the photo because Amazon won't allow it.
This is made of plastic! It fits perfectly and is well-made. But it's PLASTIC, and it's not worth the $8; at most, it's worth $3. br>Correct the description and increase the price to reflect the new material.
With this adaptor on the bike frame and the stock seat post quick release clamp, it fits perfectly and the seat post is snug.
For my E-bike, I purchased a suspension seat post. This shim came in handy when I needed a larger diameter post for my bike.
This was a godsend because my Santori seat post wouldn't fit my old Diamondback, and they don't make seat posts in the right size for the bike. It's a tight fit, so start with the seatpost and adjust the height to your liking before sliding it into the downtube. It has ridges that help it grab.
The product is excellent, and the price is very reasonable.
That's all. work very well After seeing how it was used, it did not excite me or put me to sleep. It's sometimes nice to have a bit of irony.
When it's tightened down, it doesn't move.
