The ribbon bar tape is made of cork

Questions & Answers

Are you sure that this tape is not corrupted Is it sticky?

Located in the middle of the back side of the tape, the adhesive is about one-third the width of the tape. Wrapping the tape using this technique allows it to go either way. Whenever you wrap the tape, you will want to overlap about 1/3 of the tape width. To do this, you'll need to apply the adhesive to the bar instead of wrapping it over There is no super stickiness to the adhesive While wrapping the bars, if you do not like where the tape is going, you can adjust it as you wrap. The tape is sticky enough to prevent it from sliding after you wrap it, as long as you apply tension to When using this tape, it is most difficult to get it started at the bar end properly, the first wrap has to be at a 90 degree angle to be seated properly under the bar plug, then you have to move to an angled wrap without causing it to bunch. There is a lot of stretch in the tape. Stretch it so that one side has more tension than the other as you change directions. However, in order to prevent the material from bunching up, there must be at least some tension throughout the length. of the nice things about this tape is that I never had to cut off any excess at the end, but you have to plan in advance to avoid excessive overlap or you will run out. The solution provides a small piece to cover each brake lever so that a gap does not appear in the While the tape they provide to secure the end of the hose is OK, it is not stretchy. Also, it's hard to get a good look by peeling it off. My personal preference is to use black PVC electrical tape around the ends first. You can stretch it very tight if you want a neat look. We can tape over it with Cinelli tape. It leaves a yucky residue on the bar if you use duct tape.

Would you please clarify whether this is a two-part question Are you packing? Did you receive enough tape to wrap around the handlebars on each side?

There is another roll of tape, as well as end caps and tape on both sides to complete the package.

The wheels come with two pieces of tape to wrap around the levers, does it not?

It's been about 30 years since I've had Cinelli tape and every package has included two short pieces for the levers, as well as a pair of bar ends.

Cinelli includes the small tape piece that goes on the lever for the brake and shift?

I agree, the tape is excellent!

A bar tape can be used in a variety of ways
5/5

I am a cyclist and I love this bar tape for my bike because it is In addition to that, I used it to hold other things with my hands. As an example, I wrapped the steering wheel on my VW Westfalia 77. Our 3500 mile road trip was just completed and this tape saved us when we were on back mountain roads, especially when we were driving along California highway This tape is available for purchase. That's a good thing.

The foam is great, but the adhesive strips at the end are terrible
3/5

I would not purchase it A Cinelli cork ribbon handle bar tape is nice to look at, and it rolls easily on the handlebars. It is nice to have the tape attached to the foam by a thin adhesive strip that has a backer. The screw-top of some cork tapes has a grip strip, but this one has an adhesive strip that makes the application process considerably easier. Although I kind of wish they came in chrome, I think the end caps are fine. The problem is. Let me get to the reason I gave my review a 3 star rating. You can tape down the end of the wrap using the two strips of black adhesive tape that are included with them. Although the tape is thick, feels heavy duty, looks nice with the Cinelli logo (better than most I have seen), it doesn't stick very well to itself as you wrap it around to tape the ends down. Upon returning to the house the following morning, I noted that about *2 inches had peeled back. (Bars had been prepped with alcohol, and I was wearing gloves while putting on the tape to avoid transferring hand oil, A little bit of electrician's tape will fix the issue, but the fact that the tape looks and feels so nice but isn't as sticky as electrician's tape is just irritating. All that aside, I would still buy it again if I had electrician's tape at hand - starting from the beginning of the project.

The "corky" sold by Amazon is not to be trusted
3/5

You will receive black tape with a "corky" sticker on it if you order the "corky" pattern from Amazon. The inventory on Amazon is messed up, and you will receive As I've noticed on multiple occasions, "Sports One" has delivered the right product at least once before. The corky pattern matches well with gumwall tires or other natural rubber on your bike as it contains multiple tones. The tape feels similar to most cork-backed tapes. It will have an old tape feel, so if you like that then it will work for you. It has let go multiple times when it was being pulled taut over the bar tape ends by the Cinelli finishing tape. If you have trouble with it after finishing with 3M 33 tape, you are out of luck.

The paper does not stick! We purchased this for use with our Nordictrac Elliptical Trainer with push/pull handles
3/5

For the handle bars to be more comfortable to use, they needed some help. Despite applying the wraps the day prior, I found them unwound the following day. According to the tape sent with the cork wrap, it is not being adhered The rewrite has been completed It is so frustrating to know that even though I've wrapped both handles several times, I always find it hanging unwrapped off the bars on the machine.

What's the bottom line? The adhesive holding tape that was meant to secure the cork ribbon was either old or it had gotten hot and cooled, so it had lost its adhesive properties OR maybe it just didn't work as intended. It is a huge hassle to send a product back like this. Whatever the case is, I am quite unhappy with the result. The money I wasted by purchasing from this company is what will deter me from doing business with them again.

A really nice feel, even compared to my last tape, which I used for my hands
5/5

It has a really nice feel to it, at least compared to my last tape—my hands don't go numb after 3+ hours of riding at all! Isn't it amazing how much of a difference it can make? The book also contains two prefaces Prepare two strips of handlebar tape for behind the brake hoods one pre-cut, one pre-stretched It is easy to perfect your job even if you're a first-time user (like me). Just cut strips of finishing tape and apply the adhesive on the back or on the top. You will find everything you require and it is extremely It was too scary to do it myself, and I didn't need to because the kit took care of everything. It would definitely be a purchase for me again, but in black this time. Gray has much lighter hues in real life (in my opinion) than it appears in the picture. There is no one computer display that is the same (mine is a color-screen My Mac display is calibrated for design work, so I can do that. appears almost inky A middle-aged woman A gray background instead of a closer-looking one There is a white gray color. That's my attempt at making It would be nice if the product pages included the Pantone equivalent.

Tape for handlebars that looks good and is effective
5/5

You can wrap handlebars with this easily, but if you're wrapping a handlebar for the first time, you'll want to be cautious about pulling too tightly. My first attempt wrapping my handlebars was ruined by wrapping the tape too tightly, flattening out the cushion and flattening out the tape. I definitely have not made that mistake again. My wrap job went on well and looks great (I needed to take my bike to a shop a few weeks after I wrapped the handlebars to get a flat tire fixed, and the mechanic was impressed with my wrap). The shoe cushions very well and provides a nice grip even in There is only one thing I dislike about it, and that is that it does not clean up very well, but that is expected as cork tape is more porous than other types. I'm also not a fan of the finish tape When it came off the first day, it was unpeeled, but now it is protected. You may be able to make it stick by stretching it as you press down on it.
