Product Description

THE ORIGINAL: The GP Grip Series was the first ergonomic "winged grip" design, ushering in a new era of comfort for flat-style handlebar cyclists.
GP Series grips provide total comfort by removing hand pain, numb fingers, sore wrists, and forearms. The ergonomically ideal position of the hand and wrist is supported by the unique grip shape, which relieves pressure on the ulnar nerve.
PERFECT FIT: A forged aluminum clamp allows you to adjust the grip angle for a perfect fit. It's simple to change the settings as needed. When tightened, the clamp prevents twisting. (Works with a carbon bar.)
GP grips are made from 100% German, TÜV-certified rubber compounds for improved flexibility and durability .
WARRANTY: Two-year limited warranty against material and workmanship defects.

Questions & Answers

How different does a small size feel? After two days of riding with a GP1 large, I begin to experience wrist pain. Should I ride more now that the adjustment has been made?

My hands are average in size, but my fingers are thin. I use the large size, and I've discovered that adjusting the angle of grips can alleviate wrist pain. After that, ride for an hour from a different angle. Just a few minor adjustments (10-point) The difference in degrees is significant. (PS: They're on every one of my bicycles - 4).

What is the exact length and width (at its widest point) of the whole thing? There appears to be some false information in the product details because of the large size. ty. ?

The large has a cross section of 102mm. thanks

Will these work on a handlebar with a 20 mm diameter?

They are too small for a 25mm handlebar, which is what I bought them for. The ID is 22mm or about based on micrometer measurements. 88". They measure 130 mm in length, or slightly more than 5". On the inside of the grip, there is a plastic sleeve that appears to be removable (with a remanning ID of 1"), but it does not appear to do so. It will be a tight fit if you have a 22mm bar, but it will not fit if you have a 25mm bar. The diameter of 20mm should be adequate.

Reduces numbness in the hands, and here's how to take them off and put them back on
5/5

These were purchased for a 20-day bicycle tour that I took. The rubberized palm rest area is sufficient to provide a significant benefit in alleviating numb hands that can occur when riding for long periods of time, and they are simple to install. This is how it's done! Get yourself something the size of a wire coat hanger to remove the existing grips. Insert the rod you have in the grip and push it in until resistance is felt. After that, spray or pour a small amount of water, yes water, into the area you've created with the rod. Do this a few times around the grip, each time pushing the rod a little further each time; there's no need to use oil or anything else that you'd have to clean up afterward. The old grip will come off in one piece when you twist it off. Then, to put these on, lightly dampen the inside of the Ergon with water and slip it on the bar. Adjust the angle to your liking and tighten the allen nut on the grip's end. Now take a ride and pay attention to how the grips feel. Are they positioned correctly? If you feel any pressure points, use the allen bolt to adjust them, and you'll have some super comfortable grips that will impress your friends.

Design flaws – Flaws in the Game: One feature I like about this set is that it does not cup the heel of the palm like some other brands, making it more suitable for all hand sizes
3/5

However, there were a few aspects of the game that I disliked. Because the clamp is on the outside, it won't tighten down properly if the handlebar isn't extended all the way to the end, so you'll probably need to move your brakes and shifters inward to firmly secure this grip set. The outside clamps also have the disadvantage of resting your palm on them, which I dislike. When pressure is applied, they rise above the rubber, creating a pressure point in the most inconvenient location. They're also a lot colder to the touch than rubber, which I noticed in the springtime. These are adequate, but I'm still on the lookout for my everlasting grips. br>br>5/21/21 - Update I gave these three stars after my first brief encounter with them, but after using them for a month, I've reduced my rating to one star. Even when the hex bolt is tightened as far as it will go, they simply will not fasten securely. Not only do they still rotate with only a little weight on them, but one of them came off completely while I was riding up a steep grade, injuring me. Even after repeated re-applications, they have gotten worse. the tightening The problem with comfort is also more serious than I had anticipated. Because the metal clamp is on the outside, there is a slight pressure point, and the hex bolt hole is sharp. My hand tries to sink into the hole, but it is abraded by the sharp edge. On long rides, if you don't wear gloves, your hand will bleed. This perplexes me because this company has previously produced grips that were excellent and did not contain any of these design flaws. However, they completely missed the mark on this one, and it's clear that they didn't test these extensively before releasing them. This is a product that they should be ashamed of.

You can buy the best ergonomic grips
5/5

Grip design by a German. I went with the larger ones to allow for better palm placement. I used to have the Specialized ergonomic palm grips, but they kept slipping, and the palm grip wasn't as wide or deep as this one. This allows for a locking end piece that will not come off once it is locked! It's incredible that you could bike without all of these little conveniences before.

This is an excellent problem to have
4/5

Solver grip, but be cautious when selecting a model and size; unfortunately, the model I received from Amazon was incorrect, and I had to return it. However, I found the GP1 locally for less than Amazon's price and have been using it for a few weeks. Prior to these grips, I was experiencing numbness in both hands' ring and pinky fingers, with the left hand being much worse (due to nerve damage from a 2007 injury). The grips themselves were simple to install, but I have yet to attach the end caps because they are far too tight for the (standard sized) handlebar and don't even go all the way in. For the time being, I'm going to leave them off until I figure out what kind of bike mirror I want. Nonetheless, these may be more manageable. br>br>Adjusting the correct angle requires some trial and error, and I'm not sure I've got it right yet. My thumbs, rather than the rest of my fingers, are now numb. However, my wrists are now at a more natural angle, and riding with these grips is more comfortable overall. Because I have long fingers, I ordered the large size. I'm one of those people who can't seem to find gloves that fit properly, even when they're extra large. br>br>Overall, I'm glad I spent the money on these grips, and I'm considering getting another set (in small) for a family member's bike. br>br>Instructions for installation: Small and large are the two sizes available. Also, double-check that the model you've chosen is correct. Three different shifters are available in the GP1. Trigger shifters are compatible with the Regular model. The GripShift is designed to work with grip shifters. For a Rohloff® / Nexus® shifter setup, there is a third model (the one Amazon sent incorrectly). However, depending on the shifters, you may or may not be able to use these grips without changing them out. A Giant Sedona with a wide SRAM grip shifter is one of the family's bikes. Because the GripShift model is twice the length of the existing stationary grips, it will never fit. Other grip shifters with the newer narrow configuration (under $20) are available, or you can switch to trigger shifters and use the Regular model GP1 for $25. br>br>Overall, I'm glad I bought these, but the numbness is still there. It remains to be seen whether further adjustments will cure the problem. You're probably better off buying these in person, where you can physically see the package markings, rather than ordering them on Amazon, where they may not yet have the right product options available, not to mention third-party sellers who add the same products without making any note of model or size.
