Prior to purchasing this for my older mountain bike that I am upgrading, I did a lot of research. It was easy to install this shock on my bike and made such a difference. I have a 26" wheel, so I needed a 27". In addition to working better, the 5" shock size also gave me the option of replacing my front wheel with a 27 inch one. This is "5". Those who are looking to change their front shock on a straight headtube front will have good results with it.
