There is a 120mm travel on these, but they can be adjusted to be 100mm by adjusting some internal mechanisms

You can use your trek 29" marlin 5 with the straight headtube if your bike has a straight headtube 1. The size of the 1/8" post mount is used.

I would recommend forks like this even if you prefer the stock fork

A great improvement to the stock fork. It was really the combination of the lockout and rebound that changed the capabilities of my bike. Being a bigger guy, I had trouble with the stock forks bottoming out all the time. This spring offers 120mm of travel, which combined with the air chamber really makes this spring stand out. I haven't bottomed The 2021 marlin 5 is equipped with these. Forks that look like mine were put on by my buddy a while back and neither of us have ever had problems with them except for the lockout switch, which some people find difficult to get used to.
