"How much PSI can these forks withstand before they break?" Only people weighing up to 220 pounds are listed on the chart. I'm curious as to how much higher they can be filled than 100 PSI. This MTB fork is ideal for mountain biking.
It does, indeed, have a lockout mechanism. They work great for me at 230 pounds.

It felt good when I first put it in, but I noticed the shock had lost a lot of air and would sag almost to the bottom with just my body weight yesterday. The shock would bottom out at any bump on my flat trail near my house. I tried adding air, and it seemed to help for a short time. It's clear that there's a hole in the roof. I'm still waiting for a response from the seller regarding a replacement. **Update: br>br> The seller has responded by requesting a photo of the defective unit and reassuring me that I will receive a replacement fork without having to return the old one. ***update*** The seller responded quickly and sent me a new fork, even though they advised me to keep the old one. It works well after installation. The first fork was disassembled and inspected, and I discovered a faulty o-ring. The ring allowed air to pass through, compressing the fork. My rating has been raised to three stars from one.
The Talas RL is a 140-millimeter long runner. 120- Most 26" forks are 100, as are most of the less expensive forks. I didn't want to risk the bike's geometry, so I needed at least a 120. The other question was whether or not a different fork would fit on the bike, given that the existing crown race and bearings were in good shape and fit perfectly on the Lutu fork. The Avid Elixir brake caliper installed easily, and the rotor and brake pads were perfectly aligned. The fork is well-built, and there are plenty of settings to customize it to my preferences. Although the yellow warning stickers were unsettling at first, the shock performed admirably on technical trails. The ride quality is comparable to that of the Talas, with the Talas being slightly more responsive over bumps. I'm not sure how I'll get to the fork, but when I do, I'll cross that trail. My only gripe is that the compression adjustment dial does not match the picture. Overall, a great fork for the money if you want to upgrade to an air shock or keep an older bike running. I would prefer a dial that says Compression rather than ABS, but the dial works fine.
This new fork is fantastic. I've only had a few rides with it, but it feels like I'm floating on air compared to my old Suntour XCT coil fork. There are a lot of roots and drops on this trail, so the air fork with Damper is a great upgrade. I also noticed that the front end is significantly lighter than the previous fork, and that the bike is significantly less nose heavy and more balanced. Only the issue of durability remains. The old Steel Suntour was built to last. Only time will tell whether or not this Lutu fork will stand the test of time. Right now, it's been well worth the money. If you want to change the air pressure, you'll need an air shock pump as well as a Star Fangled Nut to do so. It's also possible that you'll need to shorten the stem to match your existing fork. The job can be completed with the use of a good pipe cutting tool.
This Lutu shock is fantastic! It replaces the colossal Zoom shock that came with the bike. It reduced the overall weight of the bike by about 3 pounds, and the ride quality is so much better that it feels like you're riding a completely different (and better) bike. It's also fully adjustable, with recoil adjustment, which is uncommon at this price point. The lockout is just right, with just enough movement to eat up even the tiniest of bumps. I don't have a scale with which to weigh it, but it's quite light. It weighs about 3 lbs less than the shock it replaces. br>br>In terms of longevity, I'm not sure. I've only put about 100 miles on it so far, all on flat ground. This could be a problem as well, because air shocks require maintenance at regular intervals, and that maintenance frequently necessitates the replacement of seals, which may not be available for these shocks. 'Brand name' brands such as Rockshox, Manitou, and Fox, on the other hand, have parts available for service. This service, however, costs between $100 and $200. which may be greater than the cost of the shock. If this shock fails, I'll most likely replace it with a Fox, by which time I'll have upgraded the rest of the bike to something more suitable for a $500 fork. This fork is a great interim solution for learning why a more expensive fork is useful while also improving your MTB riding skills.
This fork is outstanding. Because I needed the extra 20mm of travel, I replaced a much more expensive RockShox fork. The lockout function is excellent, and the ride is pleasant. I'm riding a Scott Aspect hardtail XC rig with it. It is extremely light. I easily peeled off the decals and wiped them down with a magic eraser sponge. I'm very pleased.
When compared to a heavy stock coil fork, this fork is a significant improvement. We put it on my fiancee's Trek Marlin 6, and it made the bike feel a lot better on the trails and when jumping. When compared to my rockshocks, there is a significant difference, but for the price, it is well worth it.
