Questions & Answers

Does this fork fit tires with a width of 28 mm? At what height does the opening in the tire start?

The tires I run on this fork are 25 mm. Although it doesn't appear like there will be adequate room for a 28 mm, it may still be possible. In my case, there is about 5 mm of clearance around my 25 mm tire. Depending on the profile of the 28 mm tire you use, you may need additional clearance.

When it comes to steering tube length, how long does it measure? What if I want to put my own bike on it? Does it have to be cut first?

Usually, they have a length of 300mm. As for cutting it to fit, you will need to do so. It is not always the same length for all headtubes. In this way, you can easily adjust the handlebar height to suit your own needs. Taking it to an experienced bike shop is the best option if you are not comfortable with this. It is possible to see how to do this on YouTube.

There is supposed to be a compression plug with this fork, right?

There is no threadless headset on this fork, but the billet aluminum steerer uses a fanged nut, which typically comes with threadless headsets. For only a few dollars, you can purchase a star nut. A star nut setter, on the other hand, is used to drive the star nut into the steerer tube along with a rubber mallet, as well.

The rake of the richey comp carbon road bicycle fork is what?

I prefer 45mm or 43mm

This is perfect

I have a hard time finding a retro-compatible carbon fork that fits perfectly. The refurbished Lemond I have now has a killer looking carbon fork, and is modernized and spotless!.

A Richey Carbon Comp road fork, 700c x 1"
5/5

Since I bought this fork over nine months ago, I've used it a lot. This is what I bought to upgrade to a threadless setup, so yeah, I'd recommend you buy it immediately if you can afford it. With this upgrade, you can maintain the look and performance of your bike and improve the overall ride experience. I have been wanting to do this since threaded headsets became the standard for road bikes. I bought all the parts for my upgrade from A headset, stem, and spacers are included. Getting things done is so much easier thanks to Amazon.

For the money, this is a good fork
5/5

For the money, this is a good fork. An older bike comes with few options when it comes to 1" head tubes. If you need replacement forks due to missing or broken parts, then this is a good upgrade. Despite its lightweight, it is highly durable. My favorite Ritchey products are those made by Ritchey.
