Questions & Answers

How wide is the fork where the tire sits on the inside? How deep is the clearance for a tire?

Front wheel size 20" is suitable for BMX bikes. With a 2, I put it. It has enough clearance even with a 2" wide, big apple tire on the wheel.

Thank you in advance for providing the following measurements The distance from the axle to the crown on the headset stud on the axle connected to the brakes What do you mean by "fork rake"? It is a pleasure to work with you! ?

The following angle measure from the axle to the bottom of the crown (on the inside) I am 11 inches tall. The axel to the crown is 6.5 inches from the headset base. A 12-year-old boy This is about 3/4 inch. An axle to a brake stud must have the following dimensions This is about 3/4 inch. A fork rake consists of the following It is 5 degrees outside. A protractor was used to measure the distance from fork stem to fork. It might be possible to get in touch with Sunlite directly regarding this. It's Bill again.

How does the star nut fit into all this?

The fact that this is a threaded fork may prevent the installation of a star nut.

The fork looks like it's made of steel, but is it really aluminum?

A steel fork like this is available for purchase. There are two of these I currently have fitted to vintage bikes in order to install front disc brakes This is a great

Forks for a trike that needs a new fork
5/5

I agree with "the Mechanic. ". My Sun Seeker X3 is about two years old I didn't care for the 16" front wheel on the SX, so I tried something else. I had to replace the bearing race at the bottom. As it was a press fit, I heated it with a torch and then pounded it with a utility knife blade under the race to get A chisel was used to finish it. A short distance is all it takes to move it, and then the tube is too small and it falls In order to get the new fork onto it, I used a hydraulic shop press. The new fork was cut with a cutoff saw so it would match the old one. The trike was trimmed, chamfered, and mounted back on the frame. It needed a new tire and wheel and it was back on its way. It appears that the old rim brakes are still in good working order. I may send you an email Once you have the wheel on, you can switch to disk brakes. As a result, the trike rides well and I don't have to carry 16" and 20" tires. I am satisfied with the trike. On top of that, I have upgraded the NuVinci N360 hub, installed 2 wheel drive and brakes in the back, and rebuilt the lighting. Now my trike needs to be tested.

Replace or convert the fork on your 20" Sun
5/5

A 20" (406mm) fork is available for Sun recumbent bikes. In my case, I own a SUN X1 with a 20" rear and 16" front, but I would like to convert it to accommodate a 20". There are many benefits to using a 20" wheel, such as being stronger, rolling faster, and allowing the aerodynamic position of the bicycle to be more advantageous. If this fork is not too large, then it should fit the EZ racer models, but be sure to check the measurements first.

The old fork was removed and the bearings and brakes had to be transferred to Bearing races are press-fit, so they are very difficult to remove. I heated the bearing races with a butane torch, then used a chisel to tap them off the fork. A 20" wheel and tire were mounted on the fork and it was ready to ride, about a one-minute ride The job takes 2 hours. I have to keep only one size spare inner tube on the bike since it rides much better now, it is more aerodynamic, and it is easier to maneuver.
