Questions & Answers

Is there any limit to the size of tires this fork will support?

My reaction to the question is a little surprised. Somebody thinks it's a good idea to put fat tires on a hybrid car. I have 700c x 32/30 tires on it, and I have a clearance of about 20+ mm between the tire and the crown and the sidewall. It should not be a problem to run 700c x 50. In terms of 700c x 70, I don't think so. For this reason, I wouldn't recommend using something other than 700C rims, since rim brake alignment may be an issue.

Can you tell me what the steerer tube length and the thread length of the corrected suspension are?

A threadless steering tube like this is available. Using a threaded stem with it is not possible.

This can be Could this fork be used with a brake? At the bottom of the page, a statement is made that "cantilever mounts are included.". ?

It is "V+" in quality Fortunately, I don't know what brake is, but as far as I know, Shimano's brand name for

For what I was looking for, it was good
5/5

I have no complaints about the finish, the weight difference is noticeable from the Suntour suspension fork it replaced. A Schwinn Avenue that I purchased for a cheap but nice replacement, I bought this suspension fork. It wasn't a good suspension fork and I had to elevate my handlebars to where I preferred them by using a steerer tube extender. There was always some slipping of the extender when the hex bolts were cranked down all the way. Therefore, the fork got rid of the suspension fork. In addition, the 300mm steerer tube eliminated the need for an extender, which lightened the overall weight of the bicycle a bit. While the product description didn't mention the axle to crown measurement, I found in another site it listed as 403mm. The suspension corrected 1 1/8" threadless version is listed at merely 9mm more at 412mm, and nothing on Amazon suggests that fork is for sale. As a result, the suspension corrected fork had a shorter steerer tube at 260mm, and I wanted the longer 300mm tube available with this fork. I still feel comfortable driving the fork, even though the fork that I just replaced has an axle-to-crown length over an inch longer than this one. There is no star fangled nut, and you are going to need to get spacers if you want to keep the steerer tube the same length. You can reuse the lower bearing race from the old fork as well. Tube has videos on how to replace the forks, so I was able to do it right away.

Fork of decent quality
5/5

My Nashbar commuter bike was in need of fenders, so I was trying to fit full fenders. My stock forks were just barely wide enough to accommodate the 35mm tires that I have on my bike, which meant that fenders could not be fitted. It's a pleasure to say this fork solves my problem. There is a mountain bike v-shaped bracket for cheap mountain bikes You can fit a 700x35 tire and full fenders on it, and it is very roomy.

I really like the upgrade! As a replacement for my suspension fork, this fork does exactly what it says it will do
5/5

The suspension fork on my Trek 7300 was causing problems for me on hills and bridges, as I was losing power. I have since made several upgrades to the bike. What a great idea! I can't tell where it ends and where it begins.

Take a fork and eat it This is a bike conversion kit
4/5

Replaced the suspension fork on a Trek 7100 with an RST suspension fork. I'm riding on this bike for my wife, but she didn't like the soft ride up front and felt uncomfortable standing back there. Her bike has been in the family ever since she bought it brand new in "08", and now some major changes are The decision She could purchase a new electric bike or upgrade her current 7100 to one with electric assist This bike kit includes everything you need. This is what we're going to do - The fork we chose because of the bike kit is the reason why we do it. The fork on this bike kit is ridged steel, making it perfect for bike kits. However, there is one major thing to be aware of. It is a threadless stem, and the Trek 7100 comes with a threaded stem of the same size, which is uncommon except for the fact that Trek used this method on purpose since I had to also buy a new headset, stem and spacers for the change. There are $60 worth of more If you are switching from threaded to threadless, you can make the switch with inexpensive parts. It is the fork itself that is important. The stem has a bit of surface rust on it, taking it from 5 to 4 stars. The sanding has been completed and everything is good now. It looks like the paint job was done well. However, the black looks good and I decided not to repaint. My other parts to convert to threadless are all black, and I mounted an old handle bar black that I sanded and painted. An electronic version of Despite the majority of the kit being black, it came in a variety of colors. In the blue, silver and black color of the 7100, it will look cool as well. After I get the E-mail from the company, I'll update this review with performance information Together, we can bike. Wisconsin is still in the middle of winter, so I don't want to rush.

I have a cromoly commuter bike that this fits just right
5/5

It's no problem rolling off curbs with groceries in my backpack I do it every day. Pot holes and old cracks in the pavement do not affect the stability of the road. It's not unusual for me to carry an extra 20 pounds in my pack when I weigh 215 pounds. Nothing to worry about.
