Questions & Answers

What is the best way to tell if this will fit my Tiagra 4500 Crankset?

Yes, it will, and it will be an excellent upgrade. Do you have the socket you'll need to remove and replace the bottom bracket? If you don't already have one, order one now so you can put it on your bike as soon as it arrives.

What makes this different from the sm- bb9000?

The bb9000 is about 10 grams lighter than the bb9000. The external diameter is slightly smaller, and the bearings are slightly smaller. So it's really just the standard Ultegra vs. Dura-Ace difference. Components of the highest quality

On my cannondale synapse 105, I would like to replace the crankset. It's a 175mm fsa ring with bb30a and a 50/34 fsa ratio. Is this crankset going to work?

This item is a bottom bracket rather than a crankset. The bottom brackets you need will be determined by the combination of your bike frame and crankset. This is unlikely to work with your frame if your current bb isn't a hollowtech bb. Even if it fits your frame, the bearing/axle diameters or spindle length may be an issue. Switching your BB and crankset is a complicated process, and you'd be better off asking for advice at your local bike shop.

Is it compatible with the Ultegra 6500 crankset (pre-release)? hollowtechnology)?

Shimano's Octalink BB is used in the Ultegra 6500 crankset.

Excellent Quality - FSA BBs are no longer needed
4/5

The part had been prepared ahead of time well-lubricated and packaged Because there were no assembly instructions included, I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 star rating. NOTE: Before removing or installing the new bottom brackets, make sure you read this section. The reverse thread is on the right side! It wasn't until I watched a couple of YouTube videos that I realized what was going on. The difficulty in removing the right hand side prompted me to look into it further. I also recommend using the appropriate spanner wrench rather than channel lock pliers because channel locks risk damaging the bike's paint. br>br>After installation, I'm pleased with the part. The old part was an FSA Megaexo 24 mm (for Gossamer cranks) that I replaced with this Shimano part because reviews say Shimano lasts much longer than FSA and the Shimano part was a third less expensive than FSA. It's a little tight on the crank spindle. It was slightly over 24mm, whereas the shimano bearing was slightly under 24mm, according to my measurements. Given this, I recommend tapping the crank into place with a rubber mallet during assembly. It went in without a hitch, but it took a few hard whacks to get it to seat.

Shimano SORA FC-compatibility 3503; req's new BB tool is now available
5/5

I bought a FC-100. I was looking for a 3503 crank for my street bike and ran into yet another bottom bracket standard, which is fairly common these days. br>br>I decided to take a chance and go with the BBR60 bottom bracket instead of the Shimano BB-S. RS500, and the good news is that, as far as I can tell, they're compatible. br>br>One of my pet peeves - Nonetheless, it's only natural - Is there a need for a second bottom bracket adapter? A plastic adapter is included with this bottom bracket to convert a 16T 44mm adapter to the 16T 41mm required for these cups; however, the plastic ring is only a clutch and does not replace the high torque required for bottom bracket installation and removal. To go with this, you'll need a BB60 adapter. br>br>Installation is simple, and the bearings are free to spin. If you want to stick to a color scheme, black cups are the way to go.

It only lasted about 1,300 miles, or about two months
3/5

This was a great bottom bracket at first, but the bearings are making noise under load after less than 1,300 miles / two months of riding. Because I'm a light rider, the term "under load" is thrown around a lot. Other reviewers have mentioned that the BB bearings wore out quickly, which makes sense given the smaller size of the bearings, as evidenced by the adapter tool required to remove and install the BB. My old Dura Ace BB, for example, lasted 15,000 miles and ten years. I suppose I should have just done what I'm used to.

From square taper, this is a fantastic upgrade
5/5

Switching to a 172 was something I really wanted to do. Crankset with five cranks. I was unable to locate one in square taper. I had to upgrade my bike, which was a bummer. ) I purchased a Tiagra 34/50 crankset that came with a different BB. This one, on the other hand, performed admirably and is significantly lighter than the Tiagra BB. With the included adapter and my bottom bracket wrench (out and ride! ), it was a breeze to install.

Any Hollowtech II crankset will benefit from this upgrade
5/5

This was bought to replace a BB-style camera. The bottom bracket on my RS500 had developed some clicks and a grating feel to it. This is a fantastic upgrade or replacement. For starters, it looks great on the bike, almost perfectly matching the diameter of my bottom bracket shell. Second, it's one of the nicest spinning bottom brackets I've ever used in my cycling career, especially if it lasts longer than 2. I'll be more than satisfied with the cost of replacing this fine piece of machining after 5 years of service with the RS500 BB.

Great BB
5/5

I bought this for my Motobecane road bike because I replaced the FSA parts that came with it with Ultegra 6800 cranks, and I needed a BB for that. I've ridden for about an hour and a half so far. I've driven 1000 miles on the BB and am extremely pleased with it. It comes with the smaller end caps and a coupling tool, but I used a Park 41mm tool to install it instead of the adapter tool that came with it. I can't think of anything negative to say about this BB; it comes highly recommended.

It Works, 105, or Ultegra are all good options
4/5

To get to 105, I had to replace the entire drivetrain. It's smaller, lighter, and smoother than my previous hollowtech BB, at the same price point. Invest in a proper tool; the plastic adapter will only last one installation.

Works great as a replacement for Praxis cranks on the new Specialized Roubaix Sport
5/5

Although I purchased the new Specialized Roubaix Sport, I already owned a 105 crank power meter. The fact that the cranks are Praxis had escaped my notice. As a result, I purchased 105 cranks and this BB. Fortunately, Specialized now uses threaded BBs, and changing this out was a breeze if you had the right tools. Darn it, I also had to purchase the Praxis BB tool. Still, it's less expensive than purchasing a new power meter in the long run.
