It was the perfect fit for a bike I bought at Walmart and it works perfectly.
I'm not sure what the difference is, but it worked on the Walmart bike I bought.

I didn't want to throw the bike away, so this saved it. br>br>I'll probably be able to get another 6-month supply. My bike has been in use for eight months.
I recently rebuilt an old Schwin sidewinder that needed new derailleurs and cables. I removed the derailleurs from a schwin bike that I wasn't using, but they didn't fit properly. This derailleur was so close to the original that I couldn't believe it. I think the bike rides like new now that it has a new Shimano gear cassette. With what I've learned, I'll never buy a new bike if I can get good parts for a lower price.
This took the place of the RD- My Walmart Next full suspension 21 speed mtb had a ty18 derailleur when I bought it in 2001. They're both the cheapest options. My bike repairs aren't always successful, but this one went off without a hitch. It appears to be as durable as the original, but the original was ruined when I accidentally ran over a stick! With the back rack and baskets, it weighs 47 pounds. It's an excellent bike for navigating city streets and sidewalks.
It doesn't adhere to the wall very well. The adjustment screws are located at an awkward angle in the housing, making them difficult to access, and the advertised range is 7 speeds, but it only makes it to the last gear when the chain is in the proper position. So it works and appears to last for the most part, but it has a cheap feel to it and is likely to brake easily in the event of an accident.
It took a lot of effort to put this together. It was extremely difficult to get all of the gears adjusted because the fixed bracket that mounts to the bike needed to be adjusted in order to get the bike indexed on the sprocket. The springs in the derailleur aren't strong enough to make the trailer return to the low gears, so it switches up fine and then hangs up on that gear because the spring won't pull it down to the next sprocket when you go to return and switch to a lower gear. I'd recommend getting a new derailleur to save yourself some grief.
This was installed to replace the original, which had become bent after the bike had been knocked over. br>Today, after riding her bike around the neighborhood, my daughter came home and complained that her pedals were stuck. br>The top plastic housing of the derailleur had broken. The sprocket housing is tensioned at the bottom of the pivot. br>As a result, the derailleur was pushed to the side, immobilizing the chain. br>I wouldn't have been able to ride for even two miles. br>br>Even the original, low-cost Walmart derailleur was subjected to a great deal of abuse after it was bent. br>br>I'm not sure this is a genuine product because of how easily it came apart. br>br>I'm not sure this is a genuine product because of how easily it came apart.
I was taken aback by how flimsy this appeared to be. I finally understand why the first one failed. It was relatively simple to set up. Was exactly what we were looking for in a replacement. Ordering is simple, and delivery is quick.
Although the product isn't perfect, it could be much worse. br>br>(Hanger mount) It's extremely difficult to install because the mount doesn't get super tight, so you have to hold back the derailleur while reinserting your back tire, and the pulley screws are either too tight or too loose, leaving you stuck between difficult petaling and possibly losing it during a ride. br>My suggestion is to salvage any old derailleur parts, such as the screws, and use them on the new one. Also, KEEP EVERYTHING LUBRICATED, or your new derailleur's lifespan will be significantly reduced. br>br>Once it's set, however, it works perfectly. I'm on my third week with 40 miles under my belt, and everything is going well.
