Questions & Answers

Because of the plastic wheels, does this trike make a lot of noise when riding on sidewalks? Her Step 2 car makes a lot of noise, so she's trying to avoid it. ?

It sounds like plastic wheels on pavement, not as loud as a car. Also, if their feet are on the pedals but they aren't pedaling, it makes a clicking sound. None of this takes away from the pleasure we get from riding the bike.

When I move our bike forward with the push bar in place and the pedals locked, it makes a "ticking" sound. Is this something that happens frequently? Is it possible that we put it together incorrectly?

It only ticks when the child's feet are on the pedals and the pedals remain stationary as you push. I'm not sure why they made it like this. The ticking will stop if your child, like mine, puts his feet up on the wheel well.

Do the bike handles turn when the parent handle is turned? It would be beneficial to him if it could assist him in learning to steer. ?

Yes, the parent handle steers both the handle and the wheel.

Is there a foot rest for young babies, or do their feet just hang in the air like they do in one of the product photos?

I would not have bought it if I had known there was no place for them to rest their feet. My 20-year-old can reach the pedals, but he has no idea how to operate them, so his feet drag on the ground. He likes the trike, but I can't seem to get him to use it properly, and it lacks the footrest that other models have.

The construction is dreadful
3/5

I'm not sure why all of the positive reviews are so positive, unless people simply don't care about poor construction or have grown accustomed to it and are content with mediocrity. Bottom line: If you look at some of the YouTube reviews of this tricycle, you'll notice that the adult control handle moves about 25 degrees in either direction before the tricycle moves. To put it another way, the adult control (the only reason to buy this product over a simple tricycle) wobbles and makes it difficult to control the tricycle. I emailed tech support, and while they were friendly and helpful, they were unable to assist me. Thank you, Amazon, for allowing me to return the tricycle for a refund. com! ), but even the act of disobedience is enough. It was a major pain to put together. If I'd known how difficult it would be to disassemble and reassemble it, I wouldn't have done it. I probably would have just thrown it away and lived with the $70 loss if I hadn't started the process first. Prospective buyers should follow my advice: If you value quality construction, this is not the product for you. If you're "flexible" and don't mind shoddy workmanship (and there's no shame in that), then go for it. My recommendation to the manufacturer is as follows: Guys, get it together! I *know* you're capable of more, and I *know* you're aware of what I'm referring to. Even Radio Flyer technical support predicted a 10 degree "slack" in both directions - To put it another way, they built it that way. I'm a mechanical engineer, and I don't see how there could be *zero* slack in either direction. Consider what would happen if this slack issue existed in the car in which you received your driver training. To put it another way, if you made a wrong turn, your teacher would have to turn his or her control steering wheel *at least* 10 degrees before the car returned to its proper position. No, in driver training cars, the teacher's steering wheel functions identically to the student's, as it should, and as the Radio Flyer should as well. If other reviewers hadn't mentioned this issue, I would have assumed I had received a lemon.

For toddlers who can't reach the pedals, this is a potentially dangerous situation
3/5

The only reason for two stars is because of the poor quality. In terms of materials, it's very well made, but the execution is a mess. First and foremost, despite his 32-inch height, my 14-month-old does not even reach the footrest! Second, my son puts his feet up on the area where it folds as a result of this. When he turned, it pinched his foot (see illustration). Warning: this is not safe for younger toddlers who can't reach the pedals/footrest; my third complaint is that the steering is stiff, and it hits my son when I turn the handle bars. He also makes stearing difficult by requiring me to overpower him in order to turn. So, in a nutshell, I don't recommend it for toddlers under the age of two. I highly recommend the smarTrike str 3 plus, which we bought for a fraction of the price from Sam's Club.

I was extremely disappointed
3/5

Now that my son is a year old, I'd like to share some information about him. This trike was a birthday present for him. So I'm going to have to put those gray rails around the sides to keep him from falling over. The issue is that the seat is so slick that his butt keeps moving forward, he can never sit straight, and his legs constantly come off the footrest. I had to put glue on the seat to give it more grip and prevent my son from slipping. Also, the parent's steering attachment keeps losing grip and collapsing, so I had to manually drill a screw in it to keep it from collapsing. This was not what I expected from a $70 trike, and I was very disappointed.

It's pointless to ride a trike without a footrest! In 2016, we bought it as a Christmas present
3/5

Our 15-month-old daughter enjoys it, but there is no footrest and no place for her to rest her foot. She can't reach the panel yet, so whenever we go for a walk around the neighborhood, her feet are dangling. She appears to be in a lot of pain and is even looking for a place to rest her feet, poor thing! br>Funny thing is, when I went to Asia for business in January, I couldn't help but notice that the Radio Flyer Trike there has a footrest! Too bad we don't have the same options here in the US! br>br>Updated on February 2018: br>Now that our daughter is 2 years and 2 months old, she can reach the pedals and tries to ride the bike, I guess we just waited it out and don't need the footrest. I see that there is now a purchasing option to install the footrest on previous models; we would have used it a lot more if it had been available back then. Regardless of my feelings, going for a bike ride is always a big deal for my daughter.

HANDLING MUST BE FIXED
4/5

It's pretty straightforward. You should be able to get through it with a glass of wine in your hand. Unlike an IKEA book shelf, which requires the opening of two bottles before the box can be opened. THE INSTRUCTIONS ARE EASY TO FOLLOW, and all you'll need is a screwdriver. br>WEIGHT: : : : : : : : : LIGHT There's no risk of rupturing an ovary while Tina is performing a concert at the top of her precious lungs. br>KEEPING RECORDS: There are two cup holders on this stunning piece. One for the outcome of your spontaneous girls' night out, and one for you. Snacks can be thrown on the ground in designated areas. The back basket is quite sturdy (do you really want to carry the entire 12-pack?). ) and can hold three stuffed animals, two blankets, fourteen different snacks that your child can't live without, and a box of tissues for yourself; there's also a zipper pouch on the handle for small items such as a key, a couple of dollars, and benedyal; and a zipper pouch on the handle for small items such as a key, a couple of dollars, and benedyal; and a zipper pouch on the handle for small items such as a DRIVING AN OUT OF CONTROL BUMPER CAR IS LIKE TRYING TO DRIVE AN OUT OF CONTROL BUMPER CAR! "It steers like a three-wheeled skateboard down a steep back dirt road," my sister said. "I got it for the zoo. " (Perhaps at some point in the future). My 17-month-old niece and I are having healthy trust issues. When there's something close by, she grabs the handle bars and pulls hard (right or left, she doesn't care). SOMETHING TO TIGHTEN THE HANDLING AND MAYBE DISABLE THE CHILD'S ABILITY TO STEER IF THEY MADE AN ADAPTER OR A BEARING. If the handle is pulled out, perhaps the have bars should be disabled. Allow us, as parents, to have some control over something. br>THE FOOTING: THE KID HAS NO PLACE TO PUT HIS OR HER FEET. My niece, who is the size of a large three-year-old, is unable to reach the footrest because her legs are too long to dangle. She leans to the side and places one foot on the ground, while the other is locked behind the frame. THE STEERING IS ALSO MESSED UP AS A RESULT OF THIS.
