They need to be close together. Mine was a perfect fit.
They don't roll at the waist, and they're actually quite nice and comfy. They are designed to sit at the natural waistline of the wearer.

I'm 5'6" and 139 pounds, with 38" hips and 21" upper thighs. They're about 3" above my knee and fit just below my waist. The material is thicker than most, but not as thick as a wetsuit, as some cycling shorts can be. The pad isn't too thick, and it's also not too soft. I like how the reflective stripe goes up and over the back so that it is effective for vehicles approaching from behind, which I appreciate on my mountain bike, where I sit up and back on my cheeks more, rather than my sit, or pelvic bones, as I do on my road bike. I also like how the reflective stripe goes up and over the back so that it is effective for vehicles approaching from behind. Highly recommended for the price, and true to size for someone like me who is more athletic than curvy, sadly, lol. I hope this helps, because I've tried on a lot of bike shorts that are either way too tight, bunchy, or thin, or that make you feel like you're wearing a big diaper, yikes.
wow! I've never had so much padding in a bike short before, and I'm really digging it. My butt wasn't sore after a strenuous 13-mile mountain bike ride! My buttocks would be sore after even a 5-mile ride. I'm blown away, and I'm not sure I'll ever go back!.
I'm a casual cyclist who rides for about 20 minutes every day. I needed a less expensive pair of cycling shorts, so I decided to try these. They're thick and bulky, with no give or flexibility to conform to the body, in my opinion. It's as if I'm sitting on a towel rolled up. I'm keeping them in the hopes that they'll soften up after a few rides, but I'm not sure I'd buy them again. br>br>Recent changes: br>br> I went for two 40-mile rides in these and did not enjoy them at all. They're bulky, uncomfortable, don't conform to the body at all, and don't have enough padding up front; everything is in the back. I guess I'll just have to spend a little more money on some better shorts.
That's exactly what I needed! I bought these to help me get through the end of what seems like an endless journey. ending rump soreness in the peloton, and they're incredibly comfortable to ride in. The padding is nice because it covers the entire area, including the inner thighs, and it made a big difference in the cringe factor. my rides' factor! I ordered an XXL size, which is one size larger than my usual size (14/XL). They fit perfectly. More will be purchased!.
This is my third pair of Beroy shorts, and they have never let me down. After trying a variety of brands, I've discovered that not all chamois padding is created equal. In addition, I like the design, which is more than just a pair of black shorts. I also reviewed another pair of Beroy shorts with a pink floral pattern. I know where I'll go next time I need a new pair of cycling shorts.
Despite the fact that I wear a size 12, I purchased a 2XL due to the positive reviews. Despite having a large upper leg, the fit is ideal. After the second day, I knew I was glad I bought two pairs. This is fantastic. The ride was a lot of fun because of it. I would strongly suggest it. And I would buy from this company again.
The padding appears to be too far back, according to another reviewer. I agree. These bike shorts don't fit as well as my other bike shorts. I can adjust and pull the shorts forward a little, but then they're too low in the back and don't provide enough frontal coverage. For longer rides, there is insufficient support. The shorts are comfortable, the stitching appears to be of good quality, and the seams do not itch, but the padding is inadequate.
