Animal leather is something I'm not sure about. However, these are fantastic gloves.
Yes, they're on the tips of the index and middle fingers and the tips of the thumbs, where there's a rubbery section. It functions well, and my child enjoys using it to play on the iPad.
It's not genuine leather, in my opinion.
If you scroll through the photos, you'll see a size chart. I ordered a pair in large for my 9-year-old son, and they fit perfectly; after seeing his, my 6-year-old daughter also wanted a pair, so I ordered a medium for her, and they fit perfectly.

Updated: I ordered the XL and they are much more comfortable. The XL gloves are shown in the photos. Great product, but next time I'll look for one made in the United States. br>br>These gloves are fantastic! Please keep in mind that these are children's sizes. They're not very big. I ordered a size L because my hands are small and petite. Perhaps I should have ordered an XL because the gloves are quite tight, particularly in the finger length. My nails will be extremely tight as they grow longer. However, because I purchased these to use with my wheelchair, I do require them to be snug. I was looking for something with a good grip, palm padding, and touchscreen fingers, and these gloves fit the bill perfectly! Only time will tell how difficult and long-lasting this project will be. I purchased a set of high-end headphones. She went with blue, but wished there was a more "girly" option. The gloves appear to be of good quality, so they should last a long time. My son participates in a summer mountain biking program where he rides two bikes. We'll test them three times a week to see how well they hold up.
When he's on his body board, he'll use them.

The gloves are extremely well-made. They were exactly what I was looking for in a gift for my grandson. Unfortunately, his hands are too small for even the Small Size at 3 years old, which is a disappointment because the gloves had all of the features I was looking for in a cycling glove.
