It is useless to use a seat clamp. There is no significant purpose to seat post clamps other than for aesthetic reasons. You can clamp the seat in place and watch as it slides downward if you stare at it too hard. In spite of its proven design, the clamp was implemented with little attention given to just making sure it worked. There is a poor tolerance and poor material, which means it might hold up a kitty or something than small, but not a person. There is no way a small human could fit inside. Don't be afraid to trust If you had to rely on mine, you could do so. In order to drill through the seat tube and the seat post, I positioned the seat at the height I wanted. Then I drilled through both of them and put a bolt through them. There's no way to adjust that, it works fine. All in all, the quality of everything is pretty good. Other than that, nothing else to report.
The assembly was very easy and the bolts holding the seat in place make the chair sturdy. It is smooth and free to move all the moving parts. There is no play in the spokes, and the As far as my experience goes, if you aren't exceedingly short, you might need to bolt the seat in place like I did or try riding it with your knees above your hips.
