It was my fault that the battery I ordered for my Swagtron E7 ebike was the wrong size. br>However, it is extremely suspicious for a manufacturer to be unable to provide a client with a spare battery. It's almost as if they're saying "when your battery dies, buy a new ebike. " This bothers me a lot and makes me feel like I bought the LEMON of ebikes.
These batteries go about 6 miles in third gear without peddling, 9 miles in second gear without peddling, and I believe 12 miles in first gear, so I'm guessing the 18 mile recommended is with some peddling. I needed two extra batteries because I travel with it frequently; they aren't too large or heavy, which is a plus.
One is fine after only four uses, but the other shows 41. When you turn on the bike, it runs at 5V for a few seconds before shutting down because it can't handle the load of turning on the display. Regardless of which charger I use (I have two bikes that are always in use at the same time), the charger's green light remains on, indicating that it is fully charged. It's all garbage! br>One of the two original batteries for the bikes is only good for about 5 miles, while the other is good for about 10. Originally, they were designed to transport an 89-pound woman and a 120-pound man over a 15-mile distance at a low speed. They don't use high-quality cells. There are about 250 miles on the originals, and they're still in great shape. br>The warranty void if broken piece of tape that they put across the battery end gets broken right away from just putting it in the bike, so the 90 day warranty is a complete rip-off.
One screw was completely out of the unit when it arrived, and there were two more loose screws in the same area. This is not a good idea with lithium batteries. Items were returned; I'll update my review if the new battery proves to be worthwhile.
Today, October 4th, 2019, the battery arrived. Both the products and the shipping, as well as the response to a question, were much faster and better than expected. I would strongly recommend both the products and the company. All the way to a five-star plus rating.
I liked this so much with my eb7 that I bought three more, but I'm holding off on purchasing a new eb7 PLUS until I know if my batteries will work in it.
I purchased a Swagtron bike that had a defective battery. Swagt informed me that I would have to return the bike in order to receive a replacement battery. These bikes are heavy, and I am a 60-year-old 5'2" woman who was unable to pack them up and return, so I gave in and purchased a Swagtron replacement battery. When I plugged it into my charger for the first time, it smoked hot and burned up my charger. Swagtron will replace the battery, but I'm still without a charger and can't ride my bike, so I'm not pleased with Swagtron and would not recommend them.
a fantastic product that will last for a long time! When EB- is turned on, you can easily get 15 miles. 7 on the first speed setting.
