Beware - I wish I could give this bike 0 stars because it is a dangerous, faulty bike
3/5

We put the bike together using the instructions that came with it. We had also spent $70 on a bike rack for our car, in addition to this bike. While shifting gears on my first ride on this bike, the rear derailleur tore away from the bike. I was 5 miles from my car with a broken bike when the bike came to a screeching halt. I took it to a bike shop, where they told me that repairing the bike would cost the same amount I paid for it when I bought it. As a result, I now have a bike and a bike rack that are both useless. I'm so disappointed! I'd like to hear back from either Amazon or Schwinn.

Exceeded the Expectations of a Bike Geek
5/5

I just finished putting this bike together and went for a ride around the block. This bike has far exceeded my expectations in almost every way. br>Let me begin by stating that this is the ninth bicycle in my current stable and by far the least expensive; Over the years, I've owned a slew of bicycles. Two of my current bicycles are more than $3,000. I've always loved bikes and worked as a professional bike mechanic when I was younger. I believe I have a good vantage point from which to assess the quality of bicycles. The obvious value and traditional styling of this bike drew me in, and I was not disappointed. br>The bicycle has a steel frame and a seven-speed derailleur. It has an upright riding position. Except for the Shimano derailleur and freewheel, it has no brand name components. An Ashtabula (one-piece cast steel) crank and chainring, as well as a steel seatpost and seat clamp, and steel handlebars, are all cost-effective components. The stem, rims, hubs, and linear-shaped quills are all generic. Aluminum alloy is used for pull brakes and brake levers. I don't know for sure, but the Shimano derailleur appears to be stamped steel. The chromed steel rack that comes with the package is also included. The sturdy fenders appear to be made of brushed aluminum and are held together by steel brackets. Despite the presence of these heavy steel components, the bike does not appear to be particularly heavy. Except for a slightly oversized downtube, the steel frame is cleanly welded and uses standard diameter tubing. The paint job is nice, and there's even some subtle pinstriping and lettering on the top tube. The front wheel is quick release, but the back hub is bolt-on. br>Despite the fact that it is labeled as a hybrid bike, it appears to me to be a classic English touring bike, right down to the coil spring seat and swept-back handlebars. handlebars on the back The seven-speed transmission has a moderate range of gearing, making it suitable for flat to moderately hilly terrain. Mountain bike gearing is not to be expected. It has a 14-inch freewheel. There are 28 teeth in total, not a supernumerary number. a wide range of options, but sufficient for casual cycling on paved roads or well-packed trails The teeth on the chainring were not counted. A slightly slanted top tube, which belies the frame's more modern origins, is the only nod to hybrid elements. Aside from that, the layout and ride are very similar to English touring bikes from the 1960s and 1970s (think black Raleigh three-speed with some alloy updates). br>The bike was simple to put together, but there were a few adjustments that could perplex or elude someone without prior experience. The bottom bracket bearings were way too tight, the headset was a tad loose, the front wheel needed minor truing, and the linear-drive system needed to be replaced. Adjustments to the pull brakes were required - Centering, adjusting brake pad alignment, and tightening cable tension are all things that need to be done. My unit, on the other hand, came out of the box with no gearing or hubs that needed to be adjusted. If you have no experience assembling bicycles, I recommend hiring a professional to do so so that you can get the most out of your bike. In comparison to modern high-quality hydraulic disc brakes, the brakes feel mushy, but once properly adjusted, they had no trouble locking up the rear wheel or quickly stopping the bike, which I think is above average for this price range. The grip- seven-day work shift The gearing on the speedometer was smooth and quiet. br>Once put together, the bike rides solidly, smoothly, and quietly, albeit with a "vintage" feel to it. The rider is in a very upright position, with only a slight forward lean. There isn't much room between the seat and the backswept handlebars, which is fine if you're not looking for a racing position. The bike encourages riders to take their time and look around to enjoy the ride; it is efficient and secure, but not particularly agile. "I think this would be a great bike for a college campus, paved trails, and short- to medium-distance urban commuting. " Having said that, I've witnessed people riding a variety of bikes on a variety of surfaces and terrain. br>My height is 6'0" and my weight is 195 pounds. I found the bike to be very comfortable, and I have it set to the middle of its height adjustment range. With adjustments to the stem and seat height, I believe the bike would be suitable for people ranging in height from 5'9" to 6' 2". This bike should last for many years if properly stored and maintained (adjustment, air in the tires, and regular lubrication of the chain and pivot points).

This is an excellent bicycle
4/5

The seat is terrible! My husband and I did a lot of research on bicycles before deciding on two Schwinn bikes. I chose this hybrid over a cruiser that he bought. In college, I used to ride a beach cruiser, which was fantastic. It had gears and rode smoothly, but its heavy weight and thicker tires made it difficult to ride up hills. I did a lot of long-distance cycling, and while I loved my cruiser, it wasn't practical for such a long ride. My bike was in excellent condition when I arrived. Nothing was missing, no spokes were broken, and the rim was not dented. I had no problems, and it only took my husband and me about 20 minutes to put together (with two toddlers running around!). It's a breeze to put together. For the sake of comparison, I am 5'2" and 125 lbs. br>br>A few factors influenced my decision to purchase this hybrid bike. br>br>Gears: There are seven gears on this bike. It's enough to get me over steeper heels and to ride on flat ground comfortably or with resistance. When I first rode it, the gears only got stuck a couple of times. After a few attempts to scale back- After a lot of back-and-forth with the gears, they no longer stick and now switch smoothly and quickly. br>br>Frame: br>br>Frame: br>br>Frame: This bicycle is extremely light. It's not quite as light as a rodeo bike, but it's certainly lighter than a cruiser. If necessary, I can easily transport my bike. Its light weight frame allows me to ride a little faster and smoother with less effort while riding. . . even with my gears up. The seat can be adjusted to fit your needs. Because I'm short, I prefer to keep my distance from the ground. tire: br>br>tyres: br>br>tyres: br>tyre The tires are a little on the thin side. About a third of the thickness of a cruiser, in my opinion. The tires are thin, but unlike road bikes, they are full of air, so if I need to pump them up, I can just do so. I can ride faster and turn more easily because of the thin tires. br>br>Brakes: br>br> You will only be slowed by the front brakes. I don't use them very often, but they might be useful in the future. I use the back brakes, which are very effective. Granted, tampering with them may result in them malfunctioning. The brakes are located on the handlebars, which is an excellent feature. Pedal brakes are one of my pet peeves. Fenders: br>br>Fenders: br>br>Fenders: br>br> It includes a front and rear fender to keep you clean! br>br>On the back of the bike, there is a flat surface where you can mount a basket or other storage device. This isn't required, but it's nice to have. I really like the color. I was expecting a slightly darker color, but the mint is stunning. The white seat and handle bar grips are particularly appealing to me. The seat, on the other hand, is one of the most inconvenient I've ever sat in. It's a hard rock beneath your buttocks. It's a complete nightmare. I really need to get rid of it and replace it with something more cushioned. I despise my seat! br>br>With the exception of the seat, I adore my bike and am extremely happy with it. Between a road bike and my old favorite cruiser, this bike provided everything I needed. This bike. . . along with a different seat. . . is something I would recommend.

After it's all put together, it's really cute! I really like the bike; it's very cute

It basically looks white, and I recommend having it assembled at a bike shop because it took me a long time to adjust everything to my liking, and you'll need the right tools to secure everything properly.

I was let down
3/5

It arrived on time, but this bicycle is made by both Schwinnn and Pacific Bicycle, which is the source of the issue: br>The images (and accompanying text) are for a Schwinn bicycle, and they do not correspond to the contents of the box (i. e. We got a real bicycle (apparently not made by schwinn), and it doesn't even come with a list of what we're supposed to get. Without any accompanying instructions, it took me a couple of hours to figure out how to put them together. br>The customer service is excellent; they are sending me the manual and other missing parts. br>I am not happy with this bicycle so far; hopefully, the manual will assist me in improving it.
