Selected User Reviews For Firmstrong Urban Man Beach Cruiser Bike, Mens Bicycle

For miles and miles, I was 6' tall, 290 pounds, and ecstatically happy
5/5

For a big guy, this is ideal. I am 40 years old, 6' tall, and 290 pounds. I've been itching to get outside and do some physical activity, and I enjoy bicycling. The issue is that most bicycles aren't designed to accommodate a large person. This bike has a weight limit of 300 pounds. I've been looking for a bike that can carry me without bowing the frame, bending the rims after a short ride, or popping the chain for YEARS. This is MY bike. br>br>Let me tell you about the advantages:
1. With a coaster brake, you'll have fewer cables to adjust, less honking, squeaking, and other bike-related nonsense.
2. Heavy-gauge steel rims with 36 spokes in front and back are ideal for transporting 300 pounds of Me without requiring much maintenance.
3. Internal gear hub NEXUS 3 Speed - This means I'll have some gear reduction for mechanical advantage on the hills, as well as a nice 'around town' gear for when I need power. This is far superior to a single-speed bike (unless you're a teenager or live in a flat area), and unlike derailleur-style bikes, the chain is fixed to one front sprocket and one rear sprocket. The hub, not the chain, changes gears, and all your problems disappear (unless you're a serious mountain climber who requires all those gears). br>4. Surprisingly, this bike is not particularly heavy. Fully assembled, it weighs around 38 pounds.
5. The beach cruiser style provides a comfortable upright position with plenty of knee room, no knocking of the handle bars, and no unusual body position.
6. The seat is extremely comfortable, with two springs and a nice, wide base, and the white Firmstrong logo looks absolutely stunning. Please take a look at the images I've included.
7. The hand grips have a lovely level of detail. Over foam is a nice simple leather wrap with baseball glove stitching. Look at the images below.
8. It's simply a stunning bike, with a retro classic style and only one cable for the rear hub, the lines are clean, and maintenance is minimal. br>br>My inseam measures 31 inches. The frame of the bike I bought is 17 inches long. I was a little hesitant about the size at first, but it's a comfortable height when standing flat-footed and straddling the bar. The seat, as well as the handlebars, were raised to a higher position. When I put my foot down on the pedal, my leg is fully extended, ensuring that I get the most out of each crank. br>br>Update No. 1: br>We've been here for ten days. br>I've been riding an average of 15 miles per day since August 1, 2016, and I've done so every day. br>I began my riding career in a beach town where the terrain was flat. I use it for commuting around town and playing Pokemon Go, so there's a lot of on/off, sudden stops, tight quarters turning, and speeding up and slowing down. Pokemon Go outperforms a bike, and this bike is up to the task (so far). br>The seat is comfortable for long periods of time, and my body is fine because the body position is natural and comfortable. br>br>I've been back in suburban New Jersey for three days, and I've been commuting to work. There are a lot of hills, bridges, and steep inclines that take 1 to 3 minutes to climb in the lower gears. I prefer the three-speed transmission to the single-speed. Potholes are rough, and the frame is rigid and lacks shock absorption. Because I'm tall, I use curb cuts or access ramps to get on and off the curb. Otherwise, I dismount and pick up the bike. That back rim is something I don't want to damage. br>br>On my suburban terrain, I'm not struggling to keep an 11 mph pace, and it's plenty fun and comfortable for my 4 mile each way commute to work and home, as well as a lot of time spent riding with the kids in parks, bike paths, and paved trails. br>br>I'm pleasantly surprised after 10 days, and I'll keep you updated. UPDATED: br>br>NEXT UPDATED: br>br>NEXT UPDATED: 35 daysbr>I changed the tires to Orange Kenda (the same as it came with, just orange instead of white wall and added Slime Nail Proof tubes) and added an Ibera Pak Rak Commuter Bag and some safety lights for commuting to work. br>I've been riding this bike for over 500 miles now, and the wheels and spokes are in good shape. The frame is in good shape, and the seat is still comfortable. There doesn't seem to be any signs of deterioration. br>br>Here's how to get the RakPak 3 from Amazon: I've traveled a little more than 1,000 miles and have been on the road for about 50 days. br>br>I've completed 50-mile rides and ride this bicycle to work on a regular basis. I went to New York City and put this bike to the test in traffic, up hills I'd rather forget, down steep hills, and on crowded sidewalks. br>br>The rear wheel is one flaw I'm starting to notice now. The spokes are beginning to fall apart. I went to the bike shop to get two spokes replaced, and on the way home, I broke another. Everything is in the back, where the weight is. br>br>At my shop, the repair costs about $35 and includes two spokes that are two years old. 00 per person, so the labor is the most expensive part. br>br>If I'm going to be commuting all year, I can see myself spending upwards of $1,000 on a serious bike, but if you're going to the park or riding around down the shore for fun and not doing 500 miles a month commutes, this nbr>Bike is a lot of fun and a great value.

It's fantastic to have a Beach Cruiser with a 49cc engine
5/5

Singles that are well-made beach cruiser with a high top speed - Arrived in excellent condition, was simple to assemble, and had a beautiful finish. This is a comfortable cruiser in a lovely flat olive green color for me, who is 5'11" and 225 pounds. I got it delivered to my house for under $200 on Amazon, and I'm very pleased with it. I also installed a 49cc 4-stroke engine when I put it together. Bikeberry offers a cycle engine kit. com and I enjoy commuting between my home and studio, which is about 16 miles per day. LOTS of attention from oncoming traffic, who usually give me a thumbs up and ask where the HECK did I get this super-cool outfit. It's a really cool motorcycle, and I really like it.

I adore this bike; it is very attractive (I have the matte black 7-speed)
5/5

speed). It's a breeze to put together - just follow the instructions. The bike is mostly put together when you get it; I only had to put the front wheel, handle bar, and seat in place, as well as adjust the brakes. The most difficult part of assembling a bike is putting it together. chain of transmission Fortunately, they've already been completed, and in my case, no adjustments were required. All that is required are commonplace tools: 4 & 5 mm Allen Wrenches, standard or adjustable wrenches, philips screwdriver, and bicycle grease (I used some WD-40 instead). 40). Despite its size (the product specifications say it weighs 38 pounds), the bike feels light. It's a nimble and comfortable ride on the road, but it's primarily a road bike that doesn't handle bumps well. br>A few thoughts (neither pros nor cons): (1) I am 5'6" tall, and this bike is a little too big for me. I'm almost at the bottom of the seat. On the bike, I can stand on both feet, but only just. Even though it is rated for 5'2" and up, I believe that someone shorter than me might struggle with this bike. (2) The handles are spread wide, which may make the ride more comfortable but also makes the bike appear bulky; It's a bit of a challenge to get this through standard doors.

As advertised, it's smooth and comfortable
4/5

This is a review of the three-speed bike, which is a good bike that is both sturdy and straightforward: There are no hand brakes to adjust, and there are no gear shifters to adjust. I am 5ft- I'm 10 inches tall, so this bike is a little bigger than I expected, but it's still manageable. It's silky and pleasant to wear. It's exactly what it says on the tin. The only aspect of the game that I dislike is the equipment selection. The low gear isn't quite low enough to handle much of a hill, but that's pretty clear from the description. It appears to be a little on the expensive side. I had to fine-tune the spokes on the front wheel because it was slightly warped, but that's true of any bike you buy unless you pay even more for one from a bike shop.

Plus five stars! I decided to purchase the mens 26in urban cruiser after researching several mens beach cruisers
5/5

And I must say, I'm blown away. This bike is well-built and designed in a retro style, similar to the cruisers I used to ride in Huntington Beach, California in the 1970s. 80,s. It comes 80% pre assembled so all I had to do was install the front tire, seat, handlbars, and that was all I had to do was install the front tire, seat, hand a pair of reflectors, one on the front and one on the back. I was out on the streets in style 30 minutes later. On Amazon, you won't find a lower price. You'll need a metric Allen wrench set, a crescent wrench, a Philips head, and a flat edge screwdriver to assemble it, so go ahead and shop around. I recommend buying a bicycle pump, and you'll need a metric Allen wrench set, plus a crescent wrench, a Philips head, and a flat edge screwdriver. I can understand why 80% of those who have reviewed this bike have given it a five star rating. Buy one. You're not going to be let down.

It's a good fit and feels good
4/5

I'm a bigger guy, and this bike is perfect for me. It's been in my possession for quite some time now - purchased in the year 2013. I attempted to purchase a new bike that had speeds - There are more than one gear in this system. I tried a different one on Amazon and had to return it. What I discovered is that this bike is far superior to what I had anticipated. The "new bike" was noisier to ride and had more friction. The other was purchased at Snow Shop. My refund has yet to arrive. This one is a little lighter and a little bigger than the other. This weighs in at 38 pounds. You don't need anything more substantial than that. At 56, the Snow Shop bike appeared. So, at the very least, the bike is 50 years old. When everything is finished, I'll post an update.
