I've had dozens of bicycles, and both of my children enjoy riding them. For my daughter, I bought this cruiser. I can't believe I paid such a high price for such a poorly constructed piece of junk. It appears to be well-made in the photo, but it was clearly thrown together in a factory with no experience building bicycles. The frame is actually crooked, and straightening the wheels is nearly impossible. The gear and brake lines were routed in such a way that you couldn't even put the handle bars on without taking them apart, and the brakes wouldn't line up due to the crookedness of the wheels. The accessories have a very cheap appearance and feel to them. The chain guard is twisted to the point where the bike pedal hits it every time it turns.
The inner tube on this bike needed to be replaced, so I had to take it to a bike shop. They discovered that the spokes were excessively long and had pierced the wheel cover and inner tube. As a result, the wheel cover had to be replaced as well. It would most likely happen again, they predicted. For the price of repairing this new bike, I could have purchased a much more expensive bike. That was a bad decision!.
It was necessary to remove the rear tire, remove the tube, purchase a new tube, and reinstall it. My granddaughter gets to see and ride it right after it comes out of the box. Given the price, the quality is poor; the genders are flimsy, but I'm hoping they'll hold up.
But one of the tire tubes had a hole in it. I bought this for my daughter's birthday and had to rush to the store to get a replacement tube. Because I was unable to contact the company directly, I am writing this review in the hopes of being reimbursed or receiving a discount on the bike as a result of the inconvenience.
It's lovely, easy to assemble, and rides like a dream. I especially like the flowers! I didn't realize it had a bottle opener until I received it, which was a pleasant surprise. br>I'm looking forward to taking it camping this summer.
Huffy isn't going to help you if there's a problem with the product. In August of this year, we bought it for my 12-year-old daughter. We decided to spend over $330 on a bike so that it would last for many years, and I thought we were choosing a reputable brand; however, putting it together was *not* fun, the instructions were difficult to understand, and parts were bent or missing. We made do with what we had and repaired the bent parts while ordering the missing ones. br>Because we live in a snowy state, it spent the last month in our garage. We assumed she'd be able to put it to good use 3. It took 5 months for the entire gear shift to crack and fall off while switching gears one step up, and I'm not talking about a small piece of plastic breaking. I couldn't believe what I was hearing! We told her we'd call Huffy and see if they could assist us. br>Wait a minute, I was completely wrong! They only have a six-month warranty and don't seem to mind. It's COVID, so they're selling bikes faster than they can make them, so why would they care about a 12-year-old girl who was riding every day to get outside? I'm saddened by their responses and how little they seem to care, despite the fact that they are fully aware of their responsibilities. This was not a rider error, according to a bike repair shop, but rather a product defect. He was appalled by their refusal to assist us.
The bikes that fit her were usually too small for her and not up to the task. This bike is simple to put together and operate. You won't have to worry about gears or hand brakes. The basket adds a nice touch. When she rides, she prefers to have a bluetooth radio or a stuffed animal with her. I only gave it four stars for value for money because, of course, I'm always looking for a better deal. I am extremely pleased.
When I first started putting it together, and I've put together a lot of bikes, I noticed that the front FORK was uneven. As a result, the FORK's conclusion was not accurate. As a result, the front tire cannot be balanced. Plus, unlike a thin steel fork, the front fork width is too narrow to allow the tire to connect between the Axel/Wheel Retainer and the stable nut connected to the tire, and the Aluminum Tube Fork cannot be moved or adjusted. I purchased a warranty and am hoping for a new fork to be sent to me. Because putting this bike back into its box and schlepping it into my car, or having to wait until I get off work to have it picked up, is a major pain!.
