Assembly: br>br>The seat post is short, while the tube into which it is slid is long. If you let go of the seat post, it will slide down and become jammed. A small dimple in the seat post or a dimple in the seat post receiver can easily be designed around this problem. TIP: While making adjustments to the seat, wrap a rubber band around it to keep it from falling into the tube. If your seat post falls into the tube, tap on the bottom of the tube (where the serial numbers are) and the side of the tube (lightly on the side) with two rubber mallets (or hammer and wood block). My main gripe is with the seat post. It would have been so simple for them to avoid this headache, but they chose not to. br>br>The front cooler is a shambles. The hooks are too small for the cooler, so it must be hammered in place. But it's only a ruse; I keep the allen key and a couple of drinks in there. br>br>In the video, the cup holder is shown to be near the handles. It's not a good idea to do this because there's a lot of movement. To reduce jostling, place the cup holder as close to the center as possible. It's quite deep, and it can hold a lot of cans. br>br>The brakes are out of whack, but this is a common problem with mail order bikes. If you want a well-tuned bike, expect to pay more than $300 at a bike shop. The brakes are adjustable, so with 5 minutes of youtubing, you can fine-tune it on your own. br>br>Comfort:br>br>Once you've gotten the seat to the right height and angle for you, the seat itself is very generous and comfortable, even if you don't want to drop the seat post into the tube. I'm not sure how long it'll stay this way, but the first ride was incredibly comfortable on the backside. br>br>Everything is adjustable, from seat height and angle to handlebar angle and brake positioning. The handles are made of a soft, squishy foam that provides a secure grip without causing callouses on your palms. br>br>sturdiness: br>br>stability: br>br>stability: br>br>During assembly, you'll notice that everything feels flimsy and shoddy. Well, it's a $300 bike, and you're probably lucky to have one at all if you're putting this together during a pandemic. If you strip it down, the bike is pretty sturdy (and did I mention heavy). br>br>The weight of the bike isn't a big deal because you have 6 gears to work with. br>br>You won't win many races or go off-roading. However, it appears to be good value for money in the long run. YMMV. br>br>.
I like the bike because it has a nice box pouch in front where you can put your Bluetooth speaker and listen to music, and the bike came half assembled, which I liked because I only had to put the seat and handlebars on, as well as the.
This item took two months to arrive, but it was a gift, so it stayed boxed in the garage until this weekend. Although it is our fault for not checking sooner, the front fork is bent, and we are now outside the return window. I called the 800 number on the box in the hopes of getting some help (I'll update the review once I have more information). However, it appears to be a fantastic bike, so our only recommendation is to inspect it immediately for any broken, bent, or missing parts.
I must say that I am very pleased with my decision; I haven't ridden a bicycle in 30 years and decided to give it another try while on a recent camping trip when I saw so many people my age riding around on their vintage bikes. Even my knees, which have seen better days, find it very comfortable to ride. It's also very simple to put together. I'm looking forward to cruising around on it and being the talk of the campgrounds.
The front "basket" (insulated cooler) is impossible to mount using the provided hardware. The hardware to mount the drink holder on the handle bar was missing from the package. I'm not happy with it.
Socket wrench and Phillips head screwdriver are the only tools you'll need. The brake pads, both front and back, were difficult to align properly. It was necessary to assemble the front wheel, handle bar, seat, and pole, but this was not a problem. The gears were in good working order and ready to go. It was difficult to get the cooler bag to fit on the handlebar.
