Ortlieb Back-Roller City Rear Pannier

previously owned a set of Ortieb city front rollers which I used as small rear panniers for overnight mountain bike camping, and I liked the durable simplicity so much that I decided to purchase these larger panniers when I converted my old mountain bike into an electric commuter bike. The boots are absolutely waterproof and will stay that way even after extended Among the best panniers on the market are Ortliebs. Panniers that are easily removed and reinstalled are the result of enough design work. Rather than putting the emphasis on convenience, thieves will turn to this because it's very easy to steal. The modified ones would not easily be removed from my permanent installation, so I had to modify them. Purchasing these excellent panniers should consider it when buying them, since it wasn't difficult to do. It would be great for Ortlieb to provide a standard attachment system allowing these panniers to be permanently attached to prevent casual theft as well as an easy method of attaching them and removing them. Despite the fact that these panniers will not fall off, even when riding aggressively on mountain bike trails, the attachment method is not highly secure when it comes to thieves being able to lift up the carry strap and leave with your expensive panniers.

Although I haven't used these in the rain yet, they seem like they should be able to withstand the elements. As I was told, the Ortlieb line of panniers is pretty legendary, and now that I own them, it's not hard While the material is tough and well assembled, the Quick Lock mounting system is what really sets it apart. Certainly not secure, but since the bags can be dropped on the rack (More or less) and they won't fall off, you might want to pick them up whenever leaving your bike, because someone else could detach them just as easily as you. In my opinion, this pair may be a bit large for most commuters unless they have a lot of loads to carry. The first time I used it, I packed everything for a four day weekend trip and it fit nicely (This was not a camping trip so food was not packed but there was plenty of room for four days of clothes, spare shoes, etc. ). All in all, a great buy, and I'd certainly buy it again if I needed to (but probably won't have to).

Clips on this allowed me to mount it on a wall that's not in the way This rack is a standard. There is a distance between the clips that attach to the rack, and I want to know the size. This is the only set of white panniers I could find for my white bike. It's beautiful to look at them. They appear strong, but hopefully they are just as tough as they seem. Should that not be the case, I will post a report.

They are well worth the price. I have had no trouble fitting my Trek Allant +8s into these bags. Despite its tight fit, the shirt feels very comfortable. I believe these bags would have been able to keep my contents dry even during a heavy downpour, even though I have not tested them yet. My commute to work is made easier by these items The bag has space for a change of clothes (including shoes), lunch, a bike lock, a coffee mug, a portable air pump, and a small tool kit. It's never too late to add! It is very easy to open, close, and remove these bags from my bike (but don't leave your bike unattended while using them). Ortlieb is superior to the other brands I looked at.

Now that we know what makes these bags so popular and respected, it is easy to see why they are so famous. Since 2010 I have been using a set of these for daily commutes of 100 mi a week in Illinois and they have never let me down. As far as riding is concerned, I am fairly nuts and I ride in nearly any It's probably the 'that guy' in my area (with a great career mind you) who just likes to get out into nature as often as possible while saving the car for long hauls. I have always been able to keep my essential work attire and equipment (Educational IT) dry and free from humidity with these bags. Great fan of hers! Regarding the mounting, at first I was not entirely understanding why they have so much movement in the mounting. Currently, I find that this is the best and most durable solution. Maybe if they were made so they couldn't move over bumps or impacts, then they might be more likely to break, especially in the cold, since the plastic is hard. Although I may be wrong, it seems to have a very consistent and confidence inspiring effect on It seems like they will never come unclipped or come off, despite the fact that they can move on the mount. There's no guarantee that the cheaper bags on Amazon with two hooks and an elastic strap will do the job. It became necessary to zip tie the shoes on after they kept coming off. These are much better than the ones I had before. Almost anything from Oterlib is going to be pretty well designed, it's just a matter of picking your size and style.

The quick release handle is a dream come true. I can't wait to get started, pull the handle, and go flying!
Yes, it sounds simple but in my mind this is the best bag for freeking. I wish it had a second more robust handle to carry it off the bike, but there are several ways to keep the bag in your hands when you're walking.

To travel to work, I bought an insert for my laptop and office supplies. Even though I would prefer if they were easier to carry and came with shoulder straps, and I hate how much time and effort is required to roll and clip the lids and latches, otherwise, I really like how they work.
