Using my 20-inch bike as an example, I packed up the Zizzo Via to check how it fits into the carrier and it fits nicely bag is made of a strong nylon material, and the straps can be adjusted to be worn over the shoulder, but I wouldn't suggest you do so, unless you are purely travelling by Mass transit. It would have also helped if the straps had been reinforced with clips rather than sewn in so as not to put so much weight on the sewed in ones.
