Selected User Reviews For Topeak Joe Blow Sport III High Pressure Floor Pump

In this match, Joe Blow 3 will face off against Since I've been using a Nashbar Earl Grey pump for almost a decade, I'll use it as a comparison point and reference for comparing the Joe Blow 3 to it
4/5

While I liked the Earl Gray fine for general use, as well as with Schrader valves, I never liked it very much for Presta valves. When it came to installing the valve, I always thought there was a lot of guesswork involved and it would often leak or not seat correctly in the groove well, so it would sometimes take a couple of attempts to secure it properly. The truth is, I probably bent a few valves because of this. Compared to the Joe Blow 3, it feels so much better, you can really feel it lock in place, and it is very user friendly for inflating presta valve tires. Unlike the Earl Grey, JB's housing is made of metal, giving it a much more solid feel, whereas the Earl Grey is a plastic housing, making it feel flimsier. Joe Blow's head is without a doubt their greatest asset. Moreover, the Joe Blow hose is a good foot shorter than the Earl Grey's, which can be problematic if you park your bike on a stand that is too low for the shorter wire to reach. My road bicycle does not have a kickstand so the Joe Blow requires your bike to be on the ground to pump. I also feel like the Earl Grey pumps air at a little bit faster per pump, although I can't verify that, but it's not a big deal. However, the large size of the Joe Blow's head is one more problem I have with this model. The diameter of the spokes on my bikes with 20" wheels makes it difficult for me to fit it between the spokes. The clip can be wedged in, but then I find it very difficult to place the locking lever. The gauges on both pumps are easy to read, but the mid height gauge on the Joe Blow pump and the brighter colors give it an Although I haven't tested the gauge's accuracy, I have some doubts. Although the Early Grey has a plastic base, I have never had any issues with it after being using it for 3 years. The Joe Blow 3 has a metal base, while the Joe Blow 3 has a plastic one. As a conclusion, I am very happy with how easy the Joe Blow is to use on Presta valves, and I definitely recommend it if you are going to use Presta valves primarily. There is no question that the construction and material quality of the JB pump is better than that of the Earl Grey (keep in mind that the EG is a $50 pump while the JB is a $30 pump). It would be better if the hose on the JB was longer, and if the head were less bulky, I could actually use it on smaller bikes. While Earl Grey's head fits between spokes with less space between them, his face does not fit between In fact, I intend to use the Joe Blow 3 for my road bike with presta valves since the EG is significantly more reliable while the Joe Blow 3 will serve as a utility pump for other jobs. Rate as follows You can rate this pump 5 stars if Then you can A) inflate your tires with your bike on the ground and B) use I therefore give this a grade of.

Designed with quality materials, durability, and ergonomics in mind You performed well
5/5

You may have a long time with this product and will be able to count on it. The pump has been with me for one month, and I have used it to lift and exercise 120 pounds. Valve tires provided by this company. The first few days have gone well. In other words, it performs as expected. It may be part of my delight in this product that I recently switched from schrader valves to presta valves, which pump up just as easily but maintain pressure more effectively when you remove the pump from the As of today, I am a convert. It would have been better if we had Steel is used as well as plastic and rubber here and there in the pump. Topeak's well designed portable box is so well made I bought one for my bike. I was so pleased with it that I also bought another. The products that went out of fashion in my lifetime were made to last (if not a lifetime) I am 62 years old. The days of flimsy products designed for cheap cost are long gone. So I am delighted when I come across high-quality products made to exacting standards for durability, ergonomics, and performance. The product in question seems to belong to one of those categories. In addition, it is not the most expensive pump in the world. I'm so happy! A brief update Since I've had this pump for three years, I use it almost daily, and it still works just as well as when (Full disclosure I think I won't have to buy another pump in my lifetime. At 64 years of age, I don't look my age!.

I'm so impressed! Pump that is solid as a rock
5/5

This is something you should buy. I'm so impressed! All aspects of the product are excellent. There is a good amount of steel tube on this clock, which gives it a solid feel and heft. It is easy to pump the tube up with the large, ergonomic handle. With each stroke, the pump delivers a smooth and efficient action. The base of the foot is solid. dial gauge has a good design with very easy-to-read numbers in yellow and white, and the upper limit arrow is also easy to move. It is amazing how much I Because it is THE best valve to use for a Presto and a Schrader valve simultaneously. No loss of air occurs when the nozzle goes on, and it comes off with no loss of air when it comes off. My family has biked for 5 generations, and I have found this to be the best valve nozzle I have ever used. The design and color of the yellow paint are also very striking. A good hose management system with the hose wrapping around and clips holding it in place. A very clever design contains the ball needle and the inflation nozzle so that they can be kept safe inside the gauge arm. I love it! Strong, solid, solid, solid build, solid product. I own other Topeak products, including the Topeak MTX Trunk Bag DXP Bicycle Trunk Bag with Rigid Molded Panels.

There is an air leak in the connector
3/5

Having a top brand meant it would be a good pump, so I bought this Joe Blow Although I have been using it for 9 months, I remain dissatisfied with it. Since all my tires have presta valves, I realize I've lost half the air pressure before I can flip the handle when I attach the head to these valves. After I have filled the tire with air, it is very difficult to remove the head. Also, the hose is short and makes it difficult for a mechanic to reach the tires when your bike is on a.

Intuitive to use, but difficult to master
3/5

There is no obvious reason why so many people have given this 5-star While trying to place the pump head in a lock position, I have broken tubes stems because of the difficulty of engaging a pump head to a valve. My guess is it would be impractical to pump tires up unless you had long stem tubes. To ensure it doesn't leak while being pumped up, it requires a lot of force to ensure it is properly placed on the valve stem. Essentially, this is what it is There's nothing I hate about Many years ago, my father bought a cheapo pump at a box store that only had one pump head for the stem of the valve that engaged with a simple push of a button. It was bought for just next to nothing at a garage sale, so I can't see the point in continuing to use it in the hope of discovering the trick, but I will go back to using my garage sale pumps.
