Questions & Answers

Is there a "no loss air chuck" on this pump, so the pump reading is correct with no air loss after the chuck is removed?

This is a popular misconception. When you unscrew the hose, you'll hear a "hiss" sound. This is the pressurized air in the hose. When you remove the hose fitting on this or any other pump, you don't lose any PSI from the fork/shock. When you reattach the pump, some of the air rushes in to pressurize the hose, which causes the pressure in the fork/shock to drop. When you disconnect the hose, the pressure on your gauge will be the pressure inside the fork/shock, and it will stay that way. Air chucks with no weight loss are a ruse designed to get you to spend more money.

Is Presta compatible with this?

I'm not sure if it would be feasible. A presta shock valve is something I've never heard of before. A shock pump is what this is. It's not something I'd want to put a tire on.

Will the dropper seatpost be inflated as well with this pump? Please accept my heartfelt gratitude. ?

As long as it's equipped with a Schrader valve, that is. This is a high-pressure pump, so proceed with caution.

Does the meter jump around a lot after each pump? Is it relatively stable, or is it more volatile? I have one, and the reading appears to change every time I pump or release air?

I recently purchased this pump and discovered that as the chuck is tightened on the valve, the reading fluctuates wildly before stabilizing. In other words, if the readings are wildly fluctuating, the chuck simply needs to be tightened further. It's actually a useful "feature" in my opinion because it indicates that the chuck on the valve hasn't been properly tightened.

It's of good quality, light, and precise
5/5

The cheaper clones do not come with a year's warranty from Rockshox! The Rockshox HP digital shock pump is well-made, light, and, most importantly, precise. I decided to upgrade to a digital shock pump after 6 years of using an analog shock pump and playing the guessing game with small gauges and needles. Not only is it much easier to get the pressure just right with digital, but the Rockshox pump's design also makes it easier to use once you get into higher pressure ranges. When the air pressure rises, most analog shock pumps I've used become increasingly difficult to pump, but not the Rockshox one - a single pump at ten One pump at 150-psi is equivalent to psi. psi. Seeing the digital gauge display air pressure while pumping can also help you determine if the hose is properly connected. Based on checking and comparing values with my Quarq Shockwiz, the digital gauge appears to be extremely accurate. As a result of the foregoing, this became my go-to source of information. to shock the system; My previous pump was an SKS analog unit, and while the SKS is still functional (I keep it in my truck in case of emergency), the Rockshox HP digital pump is far superior in terms of convenience, ease of use, and accuracy. br>br>Here's why I went with this version instead of the Giyo/Venzo version: I did read some reviews on other non-alcoholic beverages that appeared to be similar in appearance. Most people said they were "the same as Rockshox/Fox but at a lower price" when it came to Rockshox branded digital shock pumps. That's fine if all you care about is saving money up front, but in the end, I decided to spend a little more money on the branded Rockshox version, which comes with the Rockshox 2-in-1 suspension system. a one-year warranty I've had quite a few analog non-digital non-digital non-digital non-digital non-digital non- Previously, branded shock pumps were available, but even if they were less expensive, they were essentially disposable - When they broke, I had no choice but to throw them away and spend money on a new one. I expect this Rockshox HP shock pump to last a long time, but if something goes wrong in the next two years, I'll have peace of mind knowing that the extra $15 I spent on the branded version ensures I'll be able to get support and service from Rockshox.

This is an incredible pump
3/5

Pressure can't be fine-tuned using this method. It's possible that the issue is with me. The pump is constructed in the style of a tank. It pumps much more quickly than my other shock pumps, and the digital readout is fantastic. However. I'm having some difficulties. To begin with, it quickly increases in volume. My shock is set to 155 psi. Even when using extreme caution, a single full pump can add up to 30 psi, making fine tuning the pressure difficult; even when using extreme caution, a single push of the release button can remove 15 psi or more. I must be doing something wrong because disconnecting seems to release a lot of pressure, and I'm not sure how much pressure is left after I disconnect.

If you fully tighten it, it works well
4/5

This shock pump appears to be well-made and fairly accurate. It was only a one-minute difference. 3 PSI, according to my Topeak D2 smartgauge (who knows which is correct). The only criticism I have of this pump is that accurate readings require tightening the valve all the way. br>br>When I first used it, I screwed it down until threading became difficult, measured 105 PSI (good), pumped ONE time, and measured 165 PSI (huh?). I tightened the screws a few more times, and the pressure dropped to 106 PSI (which is good). The problem is that as you tighten the screw, the pump hose and connector valve become tangled and won't spin freely. As a result, you must turn the entire pump to screw on the valve. It's a little irritating. br>br>Also, I've read that this pump leaks air from the shock, but this isn't the case. When you connect the shock to the pump, some of the air in the shock fills the volume of the pump hose line, lowering the pressure. Similarly, when you remove the pump, you'll hear a hiss of air that sounds like a shock leak, but it's simply air trapped in the shock pump hose being released.

Shock pump that isn't very reliable
3/5

To go with my Rock Shox Lyrik fork and Super Deluxe shock, I purchased this shock pump. This pump should be easy to operate, but it isn't due to poor calibration. I'm not sure if it's a digital issue (this is my first digital shock pump), but I could never get an accurate reading consistently. This was an unreliable shock pump, so I returned it. I don't think it's a good idea.

It was exactly what I was looking for
5/5

I was tired of having to go to the bike shop every time my suspension needed to be adjusted, so I gave it a shot. Value for Money 100% Pump goes to 300 psi with only a minute pressure loss when disconnected, thanks to the digital readout. Anyone who adjusts their shocks on a regular basis should get this.

DOA is lacking in modern features
3/5

Dead on arrival. It also lacks the second red wheel, which prevents air from escaping while plugging it in. I can't say how well it works because I haven't tried it. I didn't return it because I didn't try it within the return window, so I'm stuck with a $70 paperweight until I figure out if it's just dead batteries from sitting on the shelf for who knows how long.

Small analog dials are being phased out
5/5

I knew right away that I would never try to read a small analog dial again. As I expected, the chuck seals before the valve is opened, and the hose pivots with minimal friction. The resolution of the pressure is zero. 5 psi is acceptable to me. Other pressure units are accepted as well. It turns off on its own. I've only used it once, so I can't say how long it will last, but so far I'm very pleased with it.

Get one
5/5

I understand that the digital pump is more expensive than the dial pump, but it is so simple to use and accurate that I believe it is well worth it. Your friends who don't have one will beg you to use it to test their psi. Mine has never given me any problems, and I use it frequently.
