It is well worth its weight in gold. I just got the inflator today, and while I haven't tried it out on the road yet, I did test it out on my wheels at home to ensure that it works and that there are no surprises. It was a perfect fit. I've only used the Proflate Elite unit and can attest to the fact that the BriskMore is a far superior product. My observations are listed below. br>br>
1. Threads securely onto the presta valve, preventing C02 lossbr>2. 3. It's very simple and straightforward to use. br> slick valve controlbr>br>br>br>br>br> When removing the tool, there is no air loss. br>5. valve seal replacement spares (nice touch)br>6. includes a sleeve to protect your hands while you're using it (a nice touch)br>7. It takes up very little room in my seat bag (I have a small one)br>8. works with cartridges weighing 20 grams (i. e. despite the fact that the specs state that only 12 and 16g cartridges can be used). Other C02 cartridges are unknown to me.
9. light in weight 22gbr>br>This is a nice inflator, and if asked, I would recommend it to other riders. I'm going to buy a second BriskMore to replace the Proflate Elite I have in my mountain bike seat bag because the spare seals and sleeve are a nice touch that most companies would not include and would charge a premium for.

This is the second time I've had to use this handy tool. The first involved a longer-distance relationship. Presta valve with a stem. The inflator tool does not screw down securely on a Presta valve, contrary to the seller's claim. However, with a longer valve, I was able to secure the tool on the valve and inflate my rescue tube sufficiently to get home. (The claimed maximum pressure for a 700x23 tire is incorrect. ) I think I got around 70-80%. 80 degrees Fahrenheit, with a normal inflating temperature of 100 degrees Fahrenheit. )br>br>However, the second time I needed to use this tool was with a replacement tube that had a much shorter Presta valve. (I made a blunder in my thinking. ) When I tried to seat this tool on the valve as deeply as I could, it quickly came into contact with the wheel itself. As a result, the majority of the CO2 was lost. I believe I got about 30-percent of the vote. In the middle of July 4 crowds, I had to ride home at 40 PSI, very slowly and gently. Yikes. A completely unsatisfactory result. br>br>I need a tool that will screw securely down on the valve, or at the very least close around it snugly like the lips on a straw, and that does not rely on having valves of a specific length to work perfectly the first time, in a stressful situation. br>br>It also has words on it that I didn't find very helpful and that were difficult to read in the dark without reading glasses.

This inflation valve functions properly, but air escapes from the area where it attaches to the schrader valve. br>I attempted to use it today, but the schrader valve attachment broke off. That alerted me to the fact that it was most likely strewn about. br>So I tightened it up and inflated it with the inflation valve. It was a total success. br>br>The two additional manufacturing steps that I believe are required are as follows: br>1) To make the schrader valve housing flat, cut away some of the sides of the stem. In the event of maintenance, this will allow users to tighten and loosen the stem with pliers. br>2) Apply thread locker to the threads of the schrader valve stem to prevent it from loosening accidentally. This will keep users from becoming frustrated when their inflation valve, which they have only used once or twice, begins to leak. This has resulted in a decrease in the rating. br>br>For the time being, I'll just apply some thread locker to the schrader valve stem and tighten it as much as I can with needle nose pliers with some kind of rubber on the teeth for grip.

I was only riding for the second time with this inflator and a REi 16OZ cartridge. About 20 miles from home, my friend hit a nail and quickly deflated his 33cm tires. It would have been a nightmare to inflate that with a pump. Thankfully, I had this inflator with me, and I couldn't wait to try it out. It was a perfect solution. There are two key features to this item. To begin, close the inflator to prevent air from escaping when you screw your cartridge in (less waste). Second, screw the inflator onto the valve and check for a good fit by slightly opening the inflator. When everything is in place, open the inflator and let the fun begin! I was able to save a lot of time, effort, and cartridge waste. br>br>I only have one cartridge with me at all times, and flats aren't easy to come by, so when I do get one, it has to work. I also appreciate the fact that it includes extra seals.

I was out on the trail when I got my first flat since purchasing this inflator. Although it appeared to be in working order, the 38mm tire was still a little flat. When I got home and removed the cartridge, CO2 poured out of the chuck and the cartridge seal was almost completely broken. It's now completely broken. Let's see if they follow through on their promise to provide excellent customer service.
