I tried it out at home and noticed right away that it doesn't seal securely on the valve due to shallow valve insertion through a single silicone o-ring. ring, allowing air to escape and preventing full inflation of the tire. I could only get my 25c tire to 60 psi compared to 84 psi on the 84-psi tire. With the Shiny Object, 90psi is required, as well as the o-ring. After inflating a single tire, the ring is already showing signs of wear, which isn't exactly encouraging. I'm afraid I'll have to return it and go back to my Shiny Object.
It had been a long time since I'd had a flat. I just got one and was blown away by how well it worked! It's incredibly simple to use, and it's so small that it easily fits into my tool roll. If you don't require Schrader, this appears to be a very well-made product that should last a long time. My 700x32 was perfectly filled with a 16 gram threaded cartridge!.
This was a present for someone. I'm not an expert on "biking life," but I was expecting a fully functional item. It's just the valve and the sleeve in this case. Others may be aware that CO2 isn't included by default, but I wasn't. My gift did not work properly right out of the box, which was a disappointment.
For years, I've used these and given them as gifts. Few tools are as simple to use, and the sleeve is useful for keeping cool when using dry ice!.
It's very simple to use and transport. With a couple of C02 inflators, I simply attach it to the side of my camelback. It's already been tried twice. There was no freezing of the fingers, and there was no leakage. This book comes highly recommended.
It works well and, to my surprise, even holds CO2 for several days after the first use. It's more of an emergency use item, but it's always a good idea to test it out before getting too far away from home. For large gravel tires, it will take a couple of cartridges.
I no longer carry any kind of pump with me because of the design.
My tires were worn out, and I'd had a string of flats! I'm so glad I bought it because it's fantastic! It's also very simple to use!.
