It was well worth the extra money. I tried three more, all of which were a disaster. The Lezyne CO2 inflator did exactly what it said it would do in the video. It took less than a minute to complete the process. It took me longer to open my bike kit than it did to connect the CO2 cylinder to the inflator, open the tube stem, insert the stem into the inflator, open the flow control, fill the tire, remove the inflator, and close the stem. The tube had inflated to its maximum capacity. br>On the other hand. During my research, I discovered that the air in a CO2 cartridge will seep out over time. When you get home, deflate the tire and re-inflate it using a standard pump.
For several reasons, I consider this to be the best inflator I've ever used: 1) made with extreme precision; 2) In comparison to a typical lever, it is extremely compact. (I now have room in my wedge pack for an extra cartridge because of the inflator); 3) Compared to the clumsier lever, the control knob allows for far finer control of air release. When trying to inflate a tube, controlled models are typically an "all or nothing" proposition. For any serious biker, this is a must-have item.
I bought two, one for my road bike and one for my mountain bike, after ripping a tire on a sharp rock this week (May 12). Thankfully, a friend had a tube, which we installed in the tubeless tire and I was on my way. I keep a couple of the cartridges, as well as the valve, in the fingers of one of my gloves. It prevents the items from clattering around. The valve gets a perfect score from me!.
It is not possible to exchange or return this item. Even when the twist valve is fully opened, the gas flow is excruciatingly slow. I had to take the unit out of the valve, let it warm up, and then add an extra trickle and about 5 PSI. br>I'm sure there's something in my unit that's obstructing things, but who knows. You won't be able to get a replacement if yours is the same.
I find the rotary knob easy to use with one hand while the other holds the unthreaded press on nozzle in place, and it adjusts the flow of CO2 from a trickle to full blast. This is easier for me to control than a rotary lever or one that requires you to twist the cartridge.
Please return my money to me. I bought it because other people had said it was effective. It worked for a brief period of time. Less than a month after I opened the tank, the CO2 began to leak. So that's all I had to do was put it to the test. I figured it'd be something I could use for a while; perhaps I got a bad one, but even if it worked, it's still a ruse. This appears to be a good idea, but it is nothing more than that, and it is a complete waste. br> A small pump, regardless of how much work it requires, is far superior to this. br>Please, God, forgive me if I ever tried to justify purchasing or using this. For my small tire, I assumed the tanks would last indefinitely. tire.
When I used it for the second time, the rubber ring blew out. I had to spend 30 minutes searching through tall grass before continuing my ride due to poor construction and design.
I'm a seasoned cyclist with plenty of flats under my belt. I bought it because it had good reviews and I needed a new valve quickly after dropping my previous one while changing a flat. br>br>The valve is simply not working. It wouldn't even come close to filling the tube. It inflated it sufficiently to give it shape, but not enough to allow me to continue my ride; this valve failure ruined my ride this week. I had to make a phone call to arrange for a ride. br>br>I am extremely dissatisfied.
