The regular electronic sirens and bicycle bells I've tried haven't worked because people hear them all the time, however this unit provides an offset whistling sound that humans can't ignore, as well as a few others that aren't common to other electronics. Charging is easy with this device because you can mount and dismount it. Only drawback is that the wiring connecting the button and the alarm is rather flimsy, so I worry that it could break.
