I like this bell, but it is not precise

It is a nice big, solid bell and when it ring clearly, it emits a great ding dong. There is a persistent issue of the bell not ringing clearly enough. Initially I had to unscrew the cap a few turns to make it ring more easily and clearly, but once I did that I found it was loose and didn't stay in the ideal To 'tighten' the threads, I made use of Teflon tape, but it did not work well. Though I haven't tried that yet, I may be able to use loctite. The lever is not as easy to push if the pink cap is screwed down firmly, and the clinking sound is more noticeable than the clean ding dong sound. Depending on my ability, I might be able to get to 5.
